gviewzip is a linux GNOME .zip file viewer application for viewing the contents of .zip files. Once you set this program as the default viewer application for .zip files, you can double click .zip files to view the compressed files in a listbox. Double clicking a file in the listbox will load the file in the editor you specify. It supports sorting the contents of the listbox and several other options. To install, download the source and binary, login as an ordinary user, unzip the source to a temporary directory using the command
unzip gvzsrc.zip
read the REAME file and proceed as instructed. This program acts as a graphical interface for the unzip program by Info-ZIP. I have got to do nothing with Info-ZIP. The bug reports, comments etc. about gviewzip should be sent to me and those about unzip should be sent to Info-ZIP.
