Fuck i got my math midterm today. I got so nailed on ticky tack stuff and they took off a lot more points than usual for it. I got a 72 which is only 3 or 4 above the mean. So right now i've got about 79% on midterms and 50% on quizes. I'll probably get a B- again if i keep this up. Oh well i'd be happy with that.

Hey alan those prices are pretty steep for a p2-266. I guess having nt4 on all of them is like $70 a license now. BUt still pretty steep. For $650 you can get at least something in the 400mhz range. Right now i'm building a k6-2/450 and if i used all new parts it would cost $300 without a monitor. If that is with monitors for $650 and service and software like NT4 at sp5 with 128mb ram a piece and an office suite i'd say its a decent deal.

Hmm memorial day weekend went pretty well. We watched MI2 which i can say might be the worst movie i have ever seen. It was just plain horrible. Horrible. I watched soldier on DSS and i can say that that was more entertaining than MI2. That was on saturday. I saw it with randy, chris and matt. Then we just went to matts and watched E! for 3-4 hours. Next day Randy didnt go, but i made matt and chris go to breakzone. They didnt seem to have all that much fun. But then we watched Romeo must die again at the $2 theatre and well dammit PO died. After that we watched American Pie unrated version and well they didnt really add anything except that the pie scene was different. On memorial day i bought shoes. Too bad i'm a moron and forgot them at home. I also went to a contact lens place, and had my eye exam. It sucks because they have to order my contacts. Its like $104 for half a years supply from them. So I looked it up online and half a years supply of 2 week acuvues is $30. Damn those bastards. Anyways, i can go back next weekend and they can give me my trial pair, but I'm not going to. Because that'd mean i have to go home, and then go home again the week after that for the 1 week checkup thing. So i guess i'll get my contacts the week we get out of school. And no , i got regular clear ones.

On the money front.... Well i've worked out a deal with my dad where i sell his stuff on ebay and i get half the profits. I.e. he sells me p3-450s for $105 and i sell them for $155 on ebay. So i get to keep $25. I guess its pretty good. Anyways I dont have to pay for the chips at first i just pay after i sell. So i'm gonna try about 20 p3-450s at first , which should get me around $500. I guess its ok work, it'll take me a couple weeks to sell them all but its better than doing real work. Also i'm an idiot. Because i sold my FIC sd-11 athlon motherboard, but i accidentally left it at home when i put it in a box that i brought home so it would stop taking space in my room. So i have to refund the guys money plus i'm giving him $5 extra for his time and my motherboard sits at home unsellable. Damn. Also the idiots at covel front desk seem to have misplaced my diamond voodoo2 12mb. Well they say they'll find it tommorrow. Also i bought a g400 32 mb for $85 shipped. I was thinking of switchin it with my 16mb g400 but its not really any different. So i'm just gonna trade it to gaurav for his tnt2 ultra and sell the tnt2 on ebay. I should make $30 i guess, which isn't bad. Lastly I checked my stock today. It closed on the toronto stock exchange at 3.80 canadian dollars. That equates to about $2.70 a share. So my break even point is around $16 so i'm royally screwed now. And to think i owned shares at 39 at one point. Geez this sucks.

Well i've been sitting here programming for a good 6 hours now. Might actually finish this. Unlike some lazy people who decided they'd rather lose 15% of their grade and just sleep. Yeah... Well alan the media key kicks ass! I've been really out of it the last few days. I programmed about 7 hours yesterday. TOday should hit 13. At least i am gonna beat team india who is 3 indian guys working on this 35 hours. Damn this asm shit is tough to debug. I like ASM its just hard to debug because they really have no debugger. Just step through. Its not that bad though. Uh.. what else. Well lynn is up programming too. C++. Fun stuff. Oh yeah the another thing. The UCLA academic people are idiots. They send me an email saying they are gonna have a meeting for the people who passed compsci C++ AP to see what credit we should get. Well ironically it should be CS31 and CS32, which i took last 2 quarters. Those idiots. They better give me an A in those classes or something. Yeah right.

Well i also ordered more shit. I bought a new cooling fan for my k7 since the one on it is for pentium 2s and is barely cutting it. THe new heatsink should be twice the size, with quieter fans too. I also got another voodoo2. $35 for a diamond 12mb one. I remember when they cost $300. Its still a nice card. I'm gonna stick it with my g400 since diablo 2 and UT will probably run better in NT on that. So i got the best of both worlds. Good glide, great 2d. Well i guess i should have just bought a g200. Terry the bastard got a obsidian x-24 off ebay for $45. That sucks. Those used to go for $600. Damn. Also what sucks is i have an extra 64mb pc100 here. If i stick it in my athlon for 320mb of ram it cant reboot the computer. POS ram. I'm trying to clear out my room but i keep buying stuff. Its addicting. I sold my two global win cpm32 fans for $20, but now i got a new k7 fan. And my 5 p3-600s should be here soon? Anyone here thinking dualS:). Well all i got left is my own computer, an extra 64mb dimm, a savage 4pro, soon to come a super7 board with video and audio onboard (could be server), a couple 1 gig hard drives, a c6-200, and those 5 p3-600s that are coming. ANyone out there need a p3-600 katmai?

Well today i did close to nothing. Did pretty well on my math midterm. Probably in the 80s for my score. I was happy about that. Shipped some packages and yay! went to mongols again. Yummy. I got my athlon and sd-11 today. I updated the about me computer stuff part also. I tested the sd11 and athlon at 700 and it worked, so i put the sd11 away and popped in the k7pro. Everything worked well except that windows2000 won't install with USB keyboard, so i had to use the PS/2 adapter first. Anyways, I just finished reinstalling all win2000 and my software. The athlon makes me feel great that i'm away from intel again. Anyways, now i have no sound card for a while, since i was using built in sound on my other motherboard. I'm thinking of either getting a live value $55 shipped or so, or a cheap yamaha card for $18 shipped for buy.com. I figure I can fight the evil company that destroyed aureal if i get the live. I might also try and get an mx400 for like $50 to have a good card and fight the evil. I also decided to buy a new diamond voodoo2 12mb for $35 shipped off some guy on anandtech. Figured that I want working Unreal and diablo 2 in NT, so had to get that. I also got my $30 shipped 16mb savage4 pro card today. I can get like $60 for it on ebay if i'm greedy or give it to my cousin. Still thinking about that one. Also my all in one $35 super 7 board should come soon, so i can stick my spare c6-200 and 64mb ram on it. Put a network card on that, and we figure we can run a quake server or telnet board on it. Might even pick up a k6-500 for it and stick the voodoo2 in it, and just sell it. BTW the fact that there is so much mention and selling on my page reflect the fact that i want money. ANd i am a good deal maker. I guess you can say i'm greedy, but i'm just looking out for myself. Its not like I wouldn't buy you food if you were starving or something.

Well I hate math. And oh yeah i hate math. And yeah... I started my 5th project for CS. We have to rewrite all the input output function so that they work with the printer and "tape drive" . Its real easy just have to use the i/o registers. Terry is screwed. HAHA. Oh, yeah I ate breakfast today. I didn't make it up by 2pm yesterday. Well other than that i'm kinda looking forward to tommorrow. Sure i've got 4 packages to ship, and a casheirs check to get and a evil math midterm, but we get to eat at mongols. Thats always good.

Well financially this are sucking. My stocks are like worthless practically now. Ok i'll stop there with that. On the other hand I was able to get 5 pentium III 600 katmai retail boxed new chips, for only $950. I hope to sell them for $1400-1500 or so. That would be good. I've gotten my new p3-500e that will be resold soon. The guy was a moron. He said it only ran at 1.7 volts 667mhz. What he didnt do however was put the heatsink on right or put on heatsink compound. Now that i've got it, it runs at 1.55 volts 733mhz. So I should make a good profit there. I also purchased a diamond savage4 pro 16mb card for $30. And a cheap all in one super 7 motherboard for $35. THat way i can build a cheapo computer to sell in the summer. Anyways my cool new athlon should be here soon. I'll be running it on my MSI-k7pro board at 700mhz. Nice decent midrange speed now. Its pretty sick that 700mhz is midrange. Oh well time to finish my math homework.

Well I got bored tonight. Played with my webcam a little and took a new picture of myself. That lead to working on my webpage. I wrote a new about me page, archived the news, rewrote the links page. I took out "articles" since i'll probably just write everything i think in my news anyways. So my page is about as functional as it was before.

Well for all of you addicted to the message board on matts page, i've been on message boards for what 5 years now and well learn to control your addiction, i guess. Oh yeah today i didnt go to class. Woke up too late. I ate some food at the Gushi stand, and decided to get a haircut too. Sent some merchandise out. Pretty much thats all i did.

Anyways nerdy computer stuff now... Someone offered me an athlon 500 pre-soldered to 700 with fan , PCI sound card and FIC SD-11 motherboard, for just my p3-550e CPU and slot adapter. I threw in my golden orb on the condition that he ship first. So yeah i'm getting an athlon after all. And the FIC-SD11 sucks so i'll just sell that, and put the MSI k7-pro i ordered in. So i'm left with the motherboard from my old system. Which is like a week old. I'm getting a p3-500e that runs 667 or more soon , so i can stick that in there, and have a p3-667 as a backup system. I'm getting my v3-2000 back so i can stick that there too. I'd have a death system as backup!!! hehe. well probably just gonna sell all that stuff to the highest bidder. My winchip 200mhz and 64mb of ram should get paired up with a ATX MSI board with sound and video soon. So i'm thinking i might buy a k6-2/500 and stick it in that board. Its onlu like $40 so then i'd have another spare system I could pawn off, or use it as a telnet tradewars board someday. Since the board has everything built in i can just stick it in a box with a power supply and have it under my desk or something.

Oh yeah about the celeron. A guy in the anandtech for sale forum is gonna help me get him. The guy who ripped me off emailed me back said he mailed it to another guys house and stole the mail. So I've got him for a federal offense now too. The guys on anandtech said he must be an idiot to actually explain what he did. Anyways i have all his IPs and stuff so eventually we should get him. Worst part is I lose a card that was worth about $75. Its not that much so no big deal i guess. Still sucks, but i sorta got that card for free almost. But still thats $75 that potentially disappeared out of my pocket. Also i wrote that cusp program. It was pretty tough, i was kinda lazy and didnt follow my plan and it screwed me over. Had to spend 2 hours fixing that. But at least i finished unlike some other people... hehe. ANyways i was so sleepy. I woke up on sunday at 9am and didnt sleep till 1pm today on monday. I was real tired. Oh well gotta do math now.

Grr... I'm pissed. The guy who traded me his celeron 533 for my voodoo3 2000 sent me an empty box. We were supposed to cross-ship so he gave me a tracking number and everything. Now i've got an empty box and he has my voodoo3. Its bad people like this that ruin it for all honest traders/sellers. Dammit all.

Cool I got my webcam and my celeron 533 today. I can overclock the celeron 800 after the mail people let it out. They wont give it to me until there is a slip in my box. Anyways the webcam sort of works well. The pics aren't nearly as good as my old fuji digital camera, but hey it was $60, and it can do videos!. Anyways here is a pic i took of myself.

It has dawned on me that pic 1 is a much harder class than i thought. The access assignment was hard, me terry and chris couldn't figure it out so we gave up and will end up losing 4 / 25 points. Also i thought i broke my computer today. It locked up in unreal with the viper ii card i got today. So i hit reset and it never booted again. So i got frantic and figured the motherboard died. I have a project due monday that i'd be screwed if i didnt have a computer to do. So i ordered a new motherboard, but it turned out that the reset switch was jammed. I found that out after taking my whole computer apart and the motherboard still worked outside the box. Also i traded me voodoo3 2000 that i got for free from an ebay deal earlier. I spend $15 to riceboy it out with a new cooling system to make it as fast as a voodoo3 3500. Anyways a guy traded me a $140 celeron 533 that runs at 800mhz for it. So basically i got an 800mhz chip for $15. Anyways i'm probably gonna end up using that. My p3-550e runs at 809mhz but its worth a good $220 online which is $70 more than the celeron is worth. So i figure i can probably run the celeron at 900 and it would still be pretty fast. Got to test it first it should be here tommorrow... with my new webcam! Thats right, i needed a still camera that could do decent 640x480 pics for ebay. So i decided to just get a logitech USB quickcam pro. So it can take 640x480 but also do movies at 640x480 and there is no power supply or anything since its USB powered. Only cost me $60 + shipping.

In non computer news, i chatted with matt for a good 2 hours yesterday. Turns out he had a dead computer and just got it fixed. He still cant top me.

Damn i think i did very bad on my CS midterm. I think curved it will be a C-. Probably. I didnt know they'd emphasize 2s complements and all these number conversions. I thought we'd do code as usual which never happens apparently. Anyways that sucked. So me and terry went and ate mongolian after and watched gladiator. Gladiator kicked ass and mongols was good as usual.

Also terry says my new option plan for college is even worse than the last one. Now i'm thinking i'll switch to CS, minor in econ and take Chinee 1-6 and a couple others. See its even lamer than doubling in CS and Econ. But i get to learn chinese. Probably. I figure i should take advantage of the fact that i go to a school with a good Chinese department (or so my chinese history TA said) and learn it now since i'll probably never have a chance again to even try.

After traversing many asian avenue pages I was thinking today. A lot of people have pinoy pride, or korean pride, or whatever on their pages. I mean i guess its ok to be proud to be asian. Just like its ok to be proud to be white,etc. BUt i dont understand the ones that single it out to one country of a race. I mean take korean pride for example. Why do they drive hondas instead of hyundais? I mean shouldn't you be proud of korean workmanship, etc so then you should get a hyundai right? I mean it even costs less than the honda. I mean people with banners on their page especiall that say asian pride should just be buying all asian goods only. I mean i am proud to be asian. But i'm not wearing a shirt with a logo saying it. I mean if you wear a logo you must feel really strongly about it.

Ok i took down that thing. Haven't been doing much. Too much shit to get done. Math is sucking hardcore. CS midterm wednesday will also suck. And project 4 C++ version was quite easy, took an hour. I have it done. The ASM version will probably drive me insane. Today wasn't very good. Food sucked. My pizza was soggy for dinner. It was nasty i guess i was in a hurry and took the first one. I had grilled chesse from bradley again and well that will probably give me clogged arteries someday. Our basketball team lost yet again. Our PA thinks he's micheal jordan yet we all know he sucks. I still have stupid ass math to do. Ok other than that i'm pretty happy.

Also i realized that the natural keyboard is just too good. You cant do without it once you get used to it especially the microsoft one. Its made really well especially the way it slopes your wrist. The only bad thing is that i type with it so much that the wrist wrest part has darker areas where my hands rest. I tried cleaning it off even but i gave up and figured i'll just buy a new keyboard every year or so. My wrists never hurt anymore and its making me even better at typing. On a regular keyboard your hands are too close together and curved the wrong way and my wrists would hurt. Now there is a space between my hands about 2 inches and its curved the right way. Plus the wrist wrest is the highest point on the keyboards so that your wrist is sitting at top and your fingers are straight, so your lower wrist is resting downward. This keyboard, my death mouse and window2000 have really turned my opinion of microsoft around. THey actually make pretty good stuff. Now all i need for the perfect workstation is a chair that is comfortable and a LCD monitor.

Damn i did absolutely no work. I lifted weights, listened to mp3s and went on asianavenue again. Damn! Oh well back to doing those 3 things.

Well i haven't updated in a couple days. Well after giving it some thought, i'm switching out of computer science and engineering. I am going to switch to plain computer science with a technical minor in economics. Now some have accused me of being a "pussy" for chickening out of the EE classes. Well anyone will tell you that they are hard. I will not be an electrical engineer ever, so i think that its undue hardship i'll be putting myself through. Besides i like econ, it deals with maximizing profits and entreprenuership. I'm also thinking about just double majoring in econ since i have to get a minor in it anyways. Its like 8 more classes i think. Also i'm taking summer school this year at UCLA for 6 weeks. Gonna get through physics 1b, 4AL and english comp 3. Oh yeah todya i took my PIC 1 midterm. It was harder than i thought because they threw in all this history crap. Anyways i have this big CS33 program to work on now. Bye.

Ok so much for that soda thing. I'm not gonna drink any dark colored drinks. Yeah thats it. Sprite and Mountain dew. As usual i did nothing today. I turned in CS. didnt go to class. Slept ALL day. Ate dinner. Me and Gaurav have to carry all these boxes to ackerman tommorrow. That'll suck.

I had probably the best weekend in torrance so far this year. I went to my cousins wedding. The reception was fun. We danced. Food wasn't too great, but we got the DJ to play some songs that were in the latter half of the 90s. One of the bridesmaids was beatiful and it took me like 2 hours to build up the balls to ask her to dance. Turns out she is my second cousin and the only reason she didnt dance was she said she couldnt. Well she lived in canada anyways. Damn. I was all dancing and stuff and learned more stuff from Dennis. He's really good. I still cant do that thing with glow sticks right. Its so damn hard. Maybe it'd be easier with actual sticks and not just hands. Anyways after the reception it was like 1am and i had to go online and shit, and then program my CUSP project. I slept around 5 and then the next day got up at noon. So it was my grandma's 100 day death anniversary. WE did some chinese stuff and burned some things. Then we played basketball. Damn i'm short. My brother is taller than me by like an inch now, and my cousin shaun is like 6'2". Anyways i cant dunk on the 9 foot rim as well as shaun because he's so tall. It sucks getting you shot blocked and outrebounded by kids you used to be way taller than. Anyways, i played with like 4 of my cousins and my cousin's friend. I got all sunburned and that sucked.

Anyways i have a few things i decided. I'm not gonna be a programmer first off for more than a year. I think i'll be a consultant or a technology analyst or a tech stock analyst. My cousin Janssen who was econ here at UCLA is a java programmer now and he just totally looks like shit, since he's been programming so much. Also i've decided i'm gonna try and learn the piano. I dont know how i'm gonna do that, i guess i'd need some books and a piano or something, but i think its something i want to learn. I'm gonna try and stop the soda drinking again. Oh yeah and i'm finally gonna get contacts after my acne medicine runs out. What do you think? Blue or clear?
