MARCH - Reached third straight Tour QF at Dubai, upsetting No.6 seed Molik in 1r and also defeating Likhovtseva in straight sets before loss to No.2 seed Serena Williams in next match; reached SF in doubles at Dubai (w/Schiavone); as No.13 seed at Indian Wells, saved six match points in 2r match against Kremer to advance before falling to No.19 seed Zuluaga in 3r; as No.20 seed at Miami, was upset by lucky loser Cohen-Aloro in 2r.
APRIL - Defeated wild card Kosinska in 1r at Warsaw before 2r loss to No.5 seed Bovina.
MAY - As No.15 seed at Berlin, falls to Dulko in 1r; reached SF in doubles at Berlin with Sugiyama; also suffered 1r loss at Rome as No.16 seed, falling to No.110-ranked qualifier Mamic; reached 3r at Roland Garros for second time in career as No.20 seed, defeating qualifier Krajicek and Castano before straight sets loss to No.14 seed Clijsters; won third career Grand Slam mixed doubles title at Roland Garros, teaming with Fabrice Santoro to defeat No.6 seeds Navratilova/Paes in the championship match.
JUNE - As No.7 seed at Birmingham, was upset in 2r by Parra Santonja, dropping a third-set tie-break in loss; captured fifth career doubles title in Birmingham as No.2 seeds with Sugiyama, defeating Daniilidou/Russell in final; was eighth time playing with Sugiyama; was unable to repeat '04 finals performance at Eastbourne, falling to Vento-Kabchi in 1r; reached 3r at Wimbledon for second straight year as No.20 seed, defeating Linetskaya and Peer before straight sets loss to No.14 seed V.Williams.
JULY - Reaches second SF of season as No.4 seed at Cincinnati, defeating Osterloh, Rubin and Cho before falling to No.72-ranked Morigami in straight sets; defeated wild card Stevenson and qualifier Shaughnessy in first two matches at Stanford to reach QF, but fell to No.4 seed and eventual winner Clijsters in next match.
