X-Wing: Rogue Squadron: Requiem for a Rogue by: Michael A. Stackpole(story), Jan Strnad and Mike W. Barr(script) art by: Gary Erskine(art), Dave Nestelle (colors) |
Summary: What should be an easy mission for Rogue Squadron -- a simple search-and-rescue of a group of Bothan castaways forced down to the backwater world of Malrev 4 -- quickly turns into a nightmarish life-and-death ordeal. Upon reaching the planet's surface, the Rogues soon find themselves under attack by a savage indigenous species -- and then by the Bothan allies the Rogues had come to liberate. Some unknown malevolent force that promotes madness and deciet exists on Malrev 4, and not even the Rogues are immune! Review: Artwork is a little lacking... Characters look nothing like the previous comics. Seem aged too much, too worn and such. Story's pretty good though. It starts on Commenor... back before the Battle of Yavin. Red Squadron's last mission before the battle. A simple mission to go pick up some astromech's and return to Yavin IV. As always things go bad but they manage to get back, and we meet Luke Skywalker. Then we immediately jump to the present time and mission. It was interesting to see Porkins and Biggs... even though Porkins looked older than I would of figured but oh well... SPOILERS: Sad to see Dllr and Herian die... Especially Dllr as he's been in the comics from the start. But that happens in war. Good way for them to go out though. Back to the Rebellion Era. Back to Star Wars Eras. |
