Rise of the Empire
Light and Dark
Clone Wars - Volume 4: Light and Dark
by: John Ostrander, pencilled by: Jan Dursema, inked by: Dan Parsons
Summary:
Once the peacekeepers of the Republic, the Jedi have been forced into new roles. Most have become commanders and warriors, leading the Republic's clone army against the forces that would splinter galactic rule of law. Others have had to go undercover as spies-working their way into the ranks of the Seperatists. Whether rooting out traitors, or getting close to the enemy's leaders, spying is one of the most dangerous jobs a Jedi can undertake-especially if the spy's target is the ex-Jedi leader of the Seperatist Movement, Count Dooku.
Light and Dark
Jedi Master Quinlan Vos has had more than his share of brushes with the dark side of the Force, and it is precisely for that reason that he is chosen to pierce Dooku's inner circle. But to complete his mission, Vos must plunge headlong into the shadow of the dark side-a path from which there may be no return!

Review:
The Republic series of comics returns to semi-regulars Quinlan Vos and Aayla Secura. Now we see the work of the spy, and the lure of the dark side. A good story showing us about Quinlan's past, the truth behind the deaths of his parents. We see how the dark side can fool a person as Quinlan thinks he is the one fooling Dooku, while he slowly slips deeper into the dark side. And of how far he will go to gain Dooku's confidence even if it means going against all that it means to be a Jedi. We also see the opposite end with Aayla. We see her becoming an even better Jedi. We see her using what she has learned from Vos to help her defeat a rogue Jedi apprentice, Aurra Sing. Definately a good addition to Star Wars, while it has little to do with the actual Clone Wars, it helps in the building of characters.
