Summary: For Anakin Skywalker, Kenobi's headstrong apprentice, their latest mission for the Republic has less to do with the political than the personal: Separatists have invaded one of the moons of Naboo, and are planning a genocidal attack on the homeworld of Anakin's beloved Padme Amidala! Victories and Sacrifices It is a time of heroic action, deperate deeds, eneasy alliances, and sacrifices-both noble and calculated. It is a time when the Jedi learn that every victory comes at a price. Review: Poor Anakin just can't seem to catch a break. He's so close to Padme in the first part of this collection, but he's not allowed to go to Naboo, their mission is on Naboo's moon. Interesting to meet these new characters, Durge and Asaaj Ventress. Ventress is a dark side adept working under Dooku. And Durge a bounty hunter that just won't die. But the part I like the most was the second story, "Blast Radius" when we meet these Jedi legends, a Bothan who can absorb fire. A woman who has apparently used the force to lengthen her lifespan. As Mace Windu said, these Jedi didn't have stories, they had histories. And the last story, "Catspaw" is the one that makes you think. The idea that a government will force another government into subservience by force. One of the more ignored parts of war. What do you do when people don't want your definition of freedom? A very good addition to these stories of war. Back to the Rise of the Empire Era. Back to Star Wars Eras. |
