The New Jedi Order: Enemy Lines II: Rebel Stand by: Aaron Allston

Summary:   Luke Skywalker's daring mission to halt the Yuuzhan Vong's nefarious plot to overthrow the New Republic is struggling on all fronts. And time is slipping away for Han and Leia Organa Solo, trapped on a small planet whose rulers are about to yield to Yuuzhan Vong pressure to give up the Jedi rebels. On Coruscant, Luke and Mara Jade Skywalker. have made a shocking discovery that is preventing the Yuuzhan Vong from exerting complete control. But when the enemy tracks them down, Luke and Mara are thrust into a fierce battle for their lives. Suddenly, the chances of escaping appear nearly impossible. And in space, another battle rages, one that holds ominous consequences for the New Republic -- and for the Jedi themselves . . . Review: Good:  Typical Allston. It was HILARIOUS! I was glad for some humor in the NJO, the seriousness that had plagued it so far was becoming a drag. It was nice to lighten the mood some. It was GREAT to see Wes Janson return. Now all we need is Hobbie Klivian. Can you imagine pitting the Yuuzhan Vong against these two? The Yuuzhan Vong would be begging for mercy inside of a day. The work on Coruscant, with the Wraiths and Luke, Mara, and Tahiri was likewise good. It was good to get a view of the planet again. And saddening to see what was happening to it... I was likewise excited by the Battle of Borleias and the Starlancer Project. The Luskanya's return to action was exciting. This is where the New Republic begins to teach the Yuuzhan Vong why the Republic was the ruling power. Bad:  Lord Nyax... A bit overdone maybe. It was one of those, "Just another Sith Lord", things people complain about. I was hoping the disturbance on Coruscant would have been something else. Oh well, Allston did a good job with it. SPOILERS: Lusankya's charge into the worldship Domain Hul was a good plan. Bye-bye, Czulkang Lah. A heavy blow to the Yuuzhan Vong, and to Warmaster Tsavong Lah, Czulkang's son, as well. I was also glad to see Viqi Shesh finally go. The woman got on my nerves. Kidnapping Ben, making some poor child into an Anakin Solo look-alike. Her work with CorDuro shipping to hurt the refugees... Back to the New Jedi Order Era. Back to Star Wars Eras.
