Summary:
It is a solemn time for the New Republic, as the merciless Yuuzhan Vong continue their ruthless campaign of terror and destruction. The brutal ebemy has unleashed a savage creature capable of finding -- and killing -- Jedi Knights. And now Leia Organa Solo faces a terrible unltimatum from the mighty alien foe determined to conquer the galaxy. If the location of the secret Jedi base is not revealed within one week, the Yuuzhan Vong will blast millions of refugee ships into oblivion. As the battered but still unbroken Jedi scramble to deal with the newest onslaught, Leia's son Anakin lays out a daring plan. A Jedi strike force will allow itself to be "captured" by the Yuuzhan Vong and taken to their stronghold in the realm of darkness, where the Jedi will sabotage the Yuuzhan Vong's deadliest weapons. There, with his brother and sister at his side, he will come face-to- face with his destiny--as the New Republic, still fighting the good fight, will come face-to-face with theirs. . . .

Review:
Good:  The Jedi are back in the fight! YAY!! I was glad to see Luke start up a Jedi squadron to do battle. And the Wild Knights appearance, or return actually now that I've read Recovery, is nice as well. So many Jedi fighting for the Republic. I like the voxyn to a certain extent. I like that they pose a new threat for the Jedi, but I don't like having so many Jedi die because of them, but it's not bad really. Just brings about more of the reality of war. Anakin's plan to go to Myrkr to deal with the voxyn. I loved the Jedi Strike force. Personally, I just love having Jedi fight ANYTIME. That's why I was so into this series in the beginning. The idea of Jedi going out and kicking some butt. I am also glad to see Borsk Fey'lya finally come around. Finally begin to act decent. That's good.

Bad:  Not much really. Maybe a few sudden jumps in the Battle of Coruscant, but all-in-all a good novel. My favorite NJO novel after Traitor, which is also my favorite Star Wars novel.

SPOILERS:

So many losses in the strike team. Even their leader, young Anakin Solo, falls at Myrkr. His death being felt by his uncle, mother, witnessed by brother and sister... So sad, but it was written SO well. I loved the way he died. Jacen being left in the hands of the Yuuzhan Vong, is another major thing which will play a large part in the future of this war. And Borsk Fey'lya's death... Kiintan Strider Death Gambit, shame that it didn't work how he had wished but he went out well, despite it being done for a cowardly reason, IMO.
