The New Jedi Order: The Final Prophecy by: Greg Keyes |
|
Summary: The troubles for the embattled living planet Zonama Sekot have just begun. As Luke Skywalker and Jacen Solo negotiate its place in the galactic struggle against the Yuuzhan Vong, one of its organic ships is taken by the alien invaders. Scientist Nen Yim discovers about the planet and its mysteries shock her to the core. Clearly her people have gone terribly astray. For the peace-loving planet harbors not only the key to its own destruction, but the long-forgotten secrets of the Yuuzhan Vong themselves. Meanwhile, General Wedge Antilles, commanding one fleet in a three-pronged campaign to retake the Bilbringi system, is suddenly stranded deep in Yuuzhan Vong space, cut off from all contact. Wedge and his ships must rely on trickery and brilliant battle tactics if they are to survive long enough to ensure the success of one of the deadliest and most crucial missions the Galactic Alliance forces have ever seen. . . . Review: Good: It's a good book, based around Tahiri, Corran Horn, the things revealed about Zonama Sekot and the Yuuzhan Vong, are all very interesting. We finally see things beginning to fall in place for the Shamed Ones who, under the Prophet, really Nom Anor, are trying to rise up against the upper castes. We finally begin to see how scared Shimrra is of Zenoma Sekot and we learn about how he came to power as well. Bad: The summary kind of implies that Luke and Jacen are seen in this book but that's not really the case. This book is based more around Tahiri and her learning ever more about the Yuuzhan Vong part of her with which she has only recently come to terms. SPOILERS: So, Zenoma Sekot is the spawn of the Yuuzhan Vong homeworld. So where did they go wrong? Would be interesting to find out more about this. And the ending leaves you guessing, how will Zenoma Sekot ever manage to get back into Galactic Alliance space? Back to the New Jedi Order Era. Back to Star Wars Eras. |
