ADVENTURES IN BABYSITTING

Joey braced himself for the argument that he knew was coming. He'd just asked Justin to baby-sit Brianna for a weekend so that he and Kelly could have a short getaway for their fourth wedding anniversary. He rolled his eyes when he saw Wade slinking out of the rehearsal room before the fireworks started.

"What? Come on, that's not fair, Joe." Justin whined, crossing his arms and pouting.

Joey snorted. "What's not fair, that I wanna come home to a daughter and house in the same shape I left them in?"

"You think I'd do something to hurt Bri?" Justin gasped, his eyes shooting daggers at Joey.

Joey shook his head adamantly. "No. God no, Justin. I know you'd never do anything to hurt her. I also know what a pushover you are when it comes to her which is why you need a babysitting partner." He said.

"A babysitting partner? More like a babysitter for me is what you want. I'm just gonna be there to play with the munchkin because JC doesn't know how to play." Justin pouted.

"Well you do have a point. JC needs to loosen up and learn how to play. But seriously, it's not that I don't trust you. We'd just like to have JC there also to help keep you grounded." Joey placated, looking to his other three band-mates for support.

Justin's body tensed and he straightened to his full height stepping away from the wall he'd been leaning against. "Grounded? Joey you can't ground me. I'm not your kid. And what did I do to deserve it?" He demanded.

Joey laughed incredulously. "I didn't mean ground you like disciplining you or whatever. I meant to like keep your head out of the clouds so to speak. Because Kelly really wouldn't like it if she came back and Brianna had a tattoo or something."

"A tattoo? She's five not fifteen, Joe." Justin grouched, frowning at his other band-mates that were no help at all in his argument.

"Yes she is five. And you know as well as I do that if that girl wants something, Uncle Justin never says no. JC won't let her get you into trouble. Right, C?" Joey asked, turning to JC for support.

JC stood from where he was going through his duffel bag on the floor and looked at Joey. "Nope. I won't let the munchkin be a bad influence on our innocent little J." He said, smirking in Justin's direction.

"I hate you guys. You know that, right?" Justin asked, grabbing his bag from the floor beside his feet and heading toward the door.

Joey cleared his throat and called to Justin before he stepped through the door. "So, does that mean you don't wanna watch Bri this weekend?"

Justin stopped and answered Joey without turning to look at him. "No. I love Little Bit. I'll watch her even though I hate you. Pick me up at 5:00 Friday night and we'll head over, JC."

Joey turned to the remaining three men and smiled triumphantly. "See I knew his love for my little angel would win out in the end. Even if he does have to spend the weekend with JC." He laughed when JC flipped him off.

~*~

"Let's get this party started. Uncle Justin is here!" Justin shouted, walking into Joey and Kelly's house.

JC rolled his eyes at Joey when a squealing Brianna jumped into Justin's arms.

"You get to spend the night with me for three whole nights, Uncle Justin." Brianna said, excitement clear in her young voice.

Justin planted a loud smacking kiss on the little dark haired girl's cheek. "I know baby girl. We're gonna have us some fu-un."

"Run and tell your mom that JC and Justin are here, Bri." Joey said, motioning for Justin to put his daughter down.

Brianna hugged Justin one last time before leaving the foyer in search of her mother, as her father had told her to do.

"Ok, list of contact numbers is on the refrigerator. List of rules on the dry erase board beside the telephone in the kitchen. Take care of my baby and make me proud boys." Joey clapped JC and Justin both on the shoulder attempting to keep a straight face.

JC saluted Joey grinning widely. "I'll do my best to keep the munchkin and the overgrown preschooler out of trouble, sir."

"Asshole." Justin said, cuffing JC on the side of the head.

Joey laughed draping his arm around his wife, as she stopped beside him.

"Hi guys. I just wanna thank you again for doing this on such short notice. My parents were supposed to keep her but my mother ended up getting sick. We were afraid we'd have to cancel and we've been planning this for months." Kelly said, smiling gratefully at JC and Justin.

"Uncle Justin, are you coming?" Brianna called from somewhere upstairs.

Kelly laughed at the confused look on Justin's face. "Oops, I forgot to tell you that she wanted you to come up and see her new tea set that Grandma Phyllis bought her."

Justin headed for the stairs with a mischievous smile plastered across his face. "Have you ever had spiced tea with rum, Ms. Bri?" He called and then turning around to stick his tongue out at the three people gaping behind him.

"Justin." Joey said sternly.

JC shook his head and chuckled. "He's just messing with ya, Joe. He wouldn't really give her alcohol."

"I know. But keep an eye on him anyway, ok." Joey said, looking solemnly at JC.

"No prob, Bob." JC said with a quirky smile.

Joey laughed and rolled his eyes at JC. "You're such a dork, C."

JC laughed at Joey and cuffed him on the arm as Kelly went to call Brianna down to say goodbye.

"What's for dinner?" Justin asked, dropping onto the sofa next to JC and leaning his head on his shoulder.

Brianna hopped up on the other side of JC crossing her arms and leaning on JC the same way that Justin was. "I'm hungry too, Uncle JC."

JC rolled his eyes and turned to Justin. "And why do I have to be the one to be in charge of dinner?" He asked arching a brow.

Justin shrugged not meeting JC's eyes. "Because I can't cook. And you took all of those lessons so you might as well put em to use." He said, reaching down to play with the hem of JC's black t-shirt with the hot pink superstar embroidered across the chest.

"And mommy said not to let Uncle Justin near the stove." Brianna giggled from the other side of JC as Justin made a lunge for the little girl.

JC squirmed under Justin's weight as he lay over JC's lap tickling the little girl. "If you want dinner get off of me, Justin." He said, giving Justin a light shove.

Justin pinched the inside of JC's thigh and then hurtled himself off of JC and across the room laughing.

"That hurt you little..." JC started only to be interrupted by Brianna.

"Better not say a bad word Uncle JC. Mommy puts soap in my mouth when I do and it's really gross. It smells like apples but it doesn't taste like apples." Brianna said, shaking her head and making a disgusted face.

Justin hooted with laughter from the other side of the room where he was sitting on the arm of a chair.

JC flipped the younger man off over the little girl's head.

"Fine, I'm going to see about dinner but anybody that wants some has to help." He said, flouncing out of the room.

Justin looked at Brianna and shrugged. The little girl giggled and pulled Justin by his arm out of the chair. "Let's go help make dinner." She said, happily dragging Justin out of the room.

~*~

JC looked up grinning as a laughing Brianna tugged Justin into the kitchen behind her.

"I wanna help make dinner, Uncle JC." Brianna said, eagerly pulling an apron from a drawer beside the stove.

Justin chuckled as Brianna attempted to tie an apron that was almost as long as she was tall around her waist. "Here let me help ya with that, Little Bit." He said, kneeling beside her and folding the apron up a little at the waist before tying it.

"Thank you." Brianna said, planting a smacking kiss on Justin's cheek.

"You're welcome, Baby Girl." Justin said, laughing when Brianna proceeded to blow a raspberry on the already kissed cheek.

Justin ruffled Brianna's hair and then stood to find JC watching the intently. "You ok, C." He asked.

"Yeah fine." JC answered, reaching up to wipe the wetness from Justin's cheek that the raspberry had left.

Justin pulled back slightly raising his eyebrows curiously. Brianna's giggling caught his attention before he could question JC's wiping his face.

"What's so funny, Munchkin?" Justin asked, picking Brianna up off the floor and sitting her on the island counter in the middle of the kitchen.

Brianna covered her mouth stifling a giggle pointing at JC. "Uncle JC wiped your face like Mommy wipes Daddy's."

"He did, huh?" Justin asked, turning to look at JC and rolling his eyes in an exaggerated manor.

"Yup, only Mommy kisses Daddy after she wipes his face. You should kiss Uncle Justin." Brianna said, looking at JC and nodding sagely.

Justin nearly swallowed his tongue he was so surprised at the little girl's suggestion.

JC smirked at Justin before looking back at Brianna. "I should, huh? Where does Mommy kiss Daddy?" He asked, grinning widely when Justin's eyes bulged.

Brianna shrugged. "In the back yard or the living room. Sometimes in the kitchen too. And I think they kiss in the bedroom too. Only I'm not sposed to go in there if the door's closed." She informed JC.

JC chuckled and dropped a kiss on her forehead. "No, I meant where does she kiss his face? Does she kiss his cheek like this?" He asked and leaned over pressing a light kiss to a surprised Justin's cheek. "Or does she kiss him on his forehead like this?" He asked quickly pecking Justin's forehead and grabbing the hands that came up to push him away. "Or maybe on the nose like this?" And he kissed the end of Justin's nose. "How about just on his chin like this?" He held the hands tightly in his own and pressed a kiss to Justin's stubbly chin. "I bet she kisses his jaw like this, doesn't she?" He asked grinning mischievously at Justin before grazing a soft kiss over his jaw and pressing his body closer to the counter. "She probably likes to kiss the corner of his mouth just like this too." He said his lips ghosting over the corner of Justin's mouth. JC grinned as Justin seemed to lean forward rather than pulling away again. "Most likely it's like this though." He said just before his lips covered Justin's softly. The tip of JC's tongue flitted over Justin's bottom lip as he leaned back separating their mouths. Justin licked his lips breathing harshly. His eyes never leaving the moist redness of JC's lips.

"So which one is it, Pumpkin?" JC asked, turning to grin wickedly at the laughing child perched on the counter.

"She just kisses him on the cheek or mouth, Silly." Brianna laughed and poked JC's nose.

Justin extricated his fingers from JC's hand and took a step sideways away from him. "So are we gonna make dinner or talk about the kissing habits of Kelly and Joey all night?" He asked obviously upset because JC had flustered him.

"Dinner!" Brianna shouted, bouncing and nearly falling off the counter had JC not been standing in front of her.

JC scooted her bottom back a little further on the counter. "Sit still, Short Stuff." He said.

"I'm hungry. What are we gonna make?" Justin asked, turning to open the refrigerator door.

"I want bisghetti. With mushrooms and garlic bread. And big meatballs." Brianna said, her eyes growing wide as she named off the food.

JC turned to Justin with one eyebrow cocked. "Bisghetti?" He asked.

"I want bisghetti too. Spaghetti rules, doesn't it Ms. Bri?" Justin grinned at JC and chuckled as Brianna nodded enthusiastically.

JC smiled and stepped away from the counter. "Spaghetti it is then." He said.

~*~

Justin watched JC intently as they cleaned up the kitchen after their dinner. JC was acting strange. JC always acted strange but this was really strange. First with the kissing and then while they were making dinner JC kept brushing up against Justin. He'd even go so far as to stop behind him and rub his back softly or pressing his chest to Justin's back and leaning his forehead against the back of Justin's head. Justin wasn't totally sure but he'd almost be willing to put money on it that JC was smelling his hair. And much to the delight of the giggling little girl he'd started patting Justin's butt whenever he passed him.

"What?" JC asked, turning from filling the dishwasher to look at Justin.

"Huh?" Justin asked, and then wanted to kick himself because yeah that sounded really intelligent.

JC waved his hand toward Justin. "You're staring at me. Why?" He asked.

"Staring?" Justin repeated, lost in the silvery blue glint of JC's eyes.

JC laughed. "Did Brianna teach you a new game?"

Justin was jerked out of his daze by JC's laughter and looked at his friend in confusion. "What?" He asked.

"That's what I'd like to know. You're staring at me and speaking in one-word sentences." JC said, chuckling as he turned to put another dish in the dishwasher.

Brianna interrupted at that moment. "I wanna play house." She said, tugging on Justin's pant leg.

Justin's gaze left JC to look down at the little girl. "You wanna play what?" He asked in confusion.

"Play house. I wanna play house." Brianna said in exasperation.

Justin turned to JC and shrugged.

JC laughed and shook his head.

"Umm, what's that mean, Jellybean?" Justin asked, kneeling down to talk to Brianna.

Brianna looked incredulous. "You don't know how to play house?" She asked.

"Nope sorry." Justin said, shaking his head.

Brian gave a long sigh. "We have to pretend to be a family. Somebody has to be the mommy and somebody has to be the daddy. And you have to have a kid. But sometimes when I play with my cousins we can be puppies since we have to be kids all the time." She said and then smiled hopefully looking back and forth between Justin and JC.

"I'll be right back." JC said, dashing for the ringing telephone with a look of relief.

"Are we gonna play house, Uncle Justin?" Brianna asked, tugging on Justin's arm and smiling sweetly.

Justin looked from the little girl in front of him to JC who was having an animated conversation with someone on the telephone. "If JC will, I will." Justin said, grinning mischievously at JC's back.

"YAY!" Brianna shouted, jumping up and down and swinging her arms madly.

JC hung up the phone and turned cautiously toward Justin and Brianna who were whispering and giggling.

"What did you tell her that she can do now?" JC asked, eyeing Justin suspiciously.

Brianna stepped forward and grabbed JC's hand. "Uncle Justin said that he'll play house if you will." She said.

"He did, did he?" JC asked, arching an eyebrow and looking at Justin.

Justin shrugged smiling innocently.

"We can't play house Brianna. Justin and I are both boys. We need another girl to play mommy if you're going to be the kid." JC said, smiling apologetically at the little girl.

Brianna shook her head and smiled. "Uncle Justin said that you should be the mommy because you're pretty."

JC choked on the water he'd been in the process of swallowing. "I'm pretty?" He gasped, coughing and trying to see Justin through watery eyes.

Brianna nodded. "Yup, and kissable too." She giggled.

"Kissable." JC said eyes darting up to meet Justin's laughing ones.

"Since you're mommy you have to kiss daddy. Uncle Justin said that's the rules and he's daddy." Brianna said, grinning up at Justin.

JC walked over to the sink and began pouring the rest of his water down the drain. "You don't really wanna play house, do you? If you play house you really aren't playing because you'll be doing the same stuff that you do with your mom and dad every day. You'd be bored." He tried to reason.

"It wouldn't be boring with you and Uncle Justin. You guys would be a fun mommy and daddy." Brianna said cajolingly.

"I'm not a girl." JC said, frowning at Justin.

Brianna thought for a second before smiling up at JC again. "But you're pretty. All mommies are pretty so you can be a mommy." She said.

JC looked at Justin who was doing his best to not laugh. "You put her up to this, didn't you?" He asked, fighting the urge to reach over and smack Justin.

"What? I didn't put her up to anything. She was upset because there wouldn't be a mommy if we played. So I told her that you're pretty and you could be the mommy." Justin said, grinning mischievously and stirring the ice in his tea with his finger.

JC's eyes narrowed and his spine stiffened. "And why can't you be the mommy?" He demanded.

Justin shrugged and rolled his eyes as if the answer were obvious. "Because I'm not pretty." He said, giving another nonchalant shrug.

"Humph." JC grunted.

"What the he... a heck is that supposed to mean?" Justin asked, sitting his glass on the counter and turning to face JC directly.

JC reached out to pat Justin's cheek. "It means that I think you're full of cow dung." He said, his hand trailing over to tweak Justin's nose.

Justin batted JC's hand away from his face. "I'm not pretty. I'm hot, gorgeous, ruggedly handsome, sexy, or even boyishly handsome but I'm not pretty." He said, stepping back and away from JC's wandering hands. "And leave my face alone." He ordered.

"Oh brother." Brianna said, holding her head in her hands and sighing loudly.

"What's wrong, Little Bit?" Justin asked, kneeling down to talk to the little girl.

Brianna gave another long drawn out sigh. "You guys fight too much. If mommy doesn't stop fighting daddy gives her a kiss. He said it's the best way to shut her up. Maybe you should do that." She suggested, her eyes pleading with Justin to do something to stop the arguing.

"What does mommy do when daddy won't stop arguing?" JC asked, snagging Justin's glass of tea from the counter and drinking it.

Brianna giggled and covered her mouth with her hand. "Daddy never fights unless Mommy starts it. He says that mommy's punishment isn't worth it."

"Oh god, I gotta ask Joey what his punishment is for fighting with Kelly." Justin said laughing and standing to lean back against the counter beside JC.

"Can we play house now?" Brianna asked, crossing her arms over her chest.

Justin turned to JC with an evil grin. "So are you man enough to be a mommy?" He asked.

JC sighed resignedly knowing that was a challenge he couldn't just walk away from. "Fine, but nobody hears about this. Got it?" He asked, looking back and forth between Brianna and Justin.

"I promise." Brianna said, heading toward the kitchen door.

"And you?" JC asked, crossing his arms and doing his best to look menacing.

Justin grinned and pulled JC toward him by his shirt. "You got it Mamacita, now come give your daddy a kiss." He said, wiggling his eyebrows lecherously.

"Nononono! You can't kiss Mommy until after the wedding." Brianna said, running back from the doorway and pulling as hard as she could on the tail of Justin's shirt.

JC laughed at the look of surprise on Justin's face as he was dragged backward by the little girl.

"We aren't married yet?" Justin asked, finally turning around to look down at Brianna.

Brianna shook her head and laughed at Justin. "No silly. Do you remember your wedding?"

"Uh no, I guess that means we aren't married because I'd definitely remember the wedding night." Justin said, leering at JC.

JC chuckled and pushed past Justin heading toward the door. "The rate you're going there won't ever be a wedding night." He said, as he sashayed out the door.

"Well damn, let's go get married, Kiddo." Justin said; ruffling Brianna's hair and heading in the direction JC had just gone.

~*~

"NO! I am not wearing that. And don't try those puppy dog eyes with me, Missy." JC said, shaking his head emphatically as Brianna pouted at him.

Justin chuckled. "Come on, Jayce. It's just us here. Nobody else has to know." He cajoled, fingering the smooth fabric of the wedding dress that Brianna's aunt had given to play dress up in after her last failed marriage.

"That is a wedding dress Justin. I won't wear a dress. Do I look like a Backstreet Boy to you?" JC asked, dropping down onto the bed and crossing his arms stubbornly.

Justin knelt down on the floor in front of JC. "Come on, Jayce. You're getting married and you're the mommy. Mommies have to wear dresses. And besides you'll look beautiful. Kevin Richardson looked fucking ridiculous." He said, running his hands up and down JC's thighs.

"Really?" JC asked softly, as he watched Justin's hands on his legs.

"Uh huh." Justin whispered, slowly leaning forward giving JC plenty of time to move away if he didn't want Justin's mouth on his.

"I got my good barrettes for you to wear. I'm not supposed to wear em for play but I know you won't lose em." Brianna said, walking into the room just as Justin's lips brushed JC's.

Justin jerked back nearly falling backward. "Wow, those are gonna look really pretty, Bri." He said, glancing at the pale yellow daisy barrettes the little girl held out for inspection.

"It's the same kind of pretty flowers that's on the dress. See, Uncle Justin." Brianna said excitedly pointing at the daisy's that adorned the low neckline of the dress.

JC sighed in exasperation and stood from the bed. "Fine, both of you get out of here so that I can get this thing on before I change my mind." He said, making shooing motions toward the door.

Brianna pressed the barrettes into JC's hand and then turned to follow Justin out the door.

JC looked with trepidation down at the barrettes and then at the dress lying on the bed. He sighed softly and then began to tug his t-shirt up over his head.

~*~

"You guys laugh and I'm turning around and taking this get-up right back off." JC said, just before walking around the corner and into the living room.

Justin and Brianna both looked up expectantly and watched JC walk around the corner.

"Pretty." Brianna said, rushing to JC to fuss over the hem of the dress and the way it was snagged on the table beside the door.

Justin stood speechless and mouth slightly agape.

"Well?" JC persisted, watching Justin's face intently.

JC opened his mouth and then closed it several times before forming something semi-coherent. "You look amazing." He said.

JC's brow furrowed. "You think I look good dressed like a girl?" He asked.

"Yes. No, not just because you're dressed like a girl. But you like... Dude... you're glowing. You've got like this light in your hair and your mouth is all shiny and your face is just beautiful. And shit I sound like an ass." Justin rambled on waving his hands and then abruptly stopping and locking his eyes on the carpet as if it were the most fascinating thing he'd ever seen.

JC snickered. "You're weird. My hair is like this because I just had it highlighted again three days ago. My mouth is shiny as you put it because I've got this glittery vanilla frosting flavored lip gloss on. And my face has like this glowing look because I used this powder stuff of Kelly's. Oh and these damn daisies have some kind of glittery shit on them that keeps getting in my hair." JC said, gesturing toward his head and the barrettes that held his bangs back from his eyes.

"Good, because I'd hate to think you looked good without all that shit." Justin said sarcastically rolling his eyes.

JC adjusted the neckline of the dress causing Justin's eyes to stray there.

"Holy shit, you stuffed it." Justin exclaimed, stifling his laughter.

JC crossed his arms over his chest and glared at Justin. "I had to. It looked stupid just hanging there."

"What did you use?" Justin asked, approaching JC with a hand outstretched toward his chest.

JC swatted Justin's hand away from his chest. "You mess up my tits and I'm gonna hurt you. It took me forever to get these things even." He said, cupping his fake breasts in his hands and lifting them up even more than they already were. "Do they look perky?" He asked, eyes never leaving his chest.

"Perky?" Justin repeated, dumbfounded.

JC sighed loudly. "Yes, perky. If I have to dress like a girl I should at least look my best doing it. Now do these things look ok?" He asked.

"Lemme see." Justin said, reaching out and cupping JC's fake breasts.

"You're such a pervert." JC said, shoving Justin's hands away once again.

Justin laughed and opened his mouth to reply when the door bell rang.

"I'll get it." Brianna shouted, dropping the fake flowers she'd been trying to tie into a bouquet on the other side of the room.

JC glanced at Justin fear evident in his eyes. "Who's at the door?" He asked.

"I don't know. If you'd let some circulation back into my arm I could go check." Justin said, looking pointedly down at the death grip JC had on his forearm.

JC reluctantly released Justin's arm. "Go see. But don't let anyone in here. I can't get out of here and nobody can see me like this." JC said, waving his arm down the front of his body indicating that he was referring to the fact that he was wearing a wedding gown.

"Alright, calm down. I'll get rid of whoever it is." Justin said, heading out the door.

JC chewed on his thumbnail and watched the door close behind Justin.

~*~

"What are you doing here, Lance?" Justin asked, approaching the front door where Brianna stood talking excitedly to Lance.

Lance looked up at Justin. "I don't know. I got a call from this one saying that I needed to come over right away." Lance said, indicating that he meant Brianna.

"What the hell's that noise. Did you bring a dog with you or something?" Justin asked, trying to see what was making the god awful wheezing sound coming from behind Lance.

Lance stepped aside revealing Chris leaning over hands on his knee's breathing heavily and wheezing. "She told me to bring him along. The idiot decided it would take too long for me to put the code in at the gate so he climbed it and ran up here."

Justin laughed as Chris struggling for breath straightened enough to smack the back of Lance's head.

"So what are we doing here? What was the emergency?" Lance asked, looking from Brianna to Justin.

"I wasn't aware that there was one. Why did you call Lance, Munchkin?" Justin asked, ruffling Brianna's dark hair.

"We have to have the guy in the black to tell you to kiss the bride. And you can't get married if you don't have a best friend. We don't have any guests either." Brianna said, rolling her eyes at Justin as if it were perfectly obvious why she'd called Lance.

Lance placed a hand over Brianna's mouth and looked calmly at Justin. "Married? What the hell are you up to now, Justin?" He asked.

"Me? Why is everything my fault?" Justin whined, crossing his arms and pouting.

Lance shook his head. "Because I know you, J. And whatever you're up to there's no way JC's consented to it. What'd you do to him? If you tied him to the chair again he's gonna kick your ass, Justin." He warned.

"That was one time and it was five years ago. Besides you guys all watched me do it and laughed about it until JC woke up all pissed off. None of you tried to stop me but as soon as he woke up you're all 'Justin did it'." Justin said frowning at Lance.

"Whatever, just tell me what was so damn important that I had to drop what I was doing and rush right over here." Lance demanded hands on his hips and glaring at Justin.

Chris finally recovered decided to speak up. "You murdered JC and you want us to help hide the body, didn't you?"

"No I didn't murder JC you idiot." Justin said, reaching around Lance to smack Chris.

Chris snickered. "Well if you didn't kill him then you fu... "

"Finish that sentence and you'll be eating a bottle of soap." Justin warned, pointing down at a very interested Brianna looking back and forth between them.

Lance groaned and then knelt down in front of Brianna. "Why don't you tell me what's going on, Honey? What's this about a wedding? And where's JC?" He asked.

"We're having a wedding tonight. And Mommy's in the... " Brianna was cut off as the doorbell rang again.

The door was pushed open the minute Chris turned the knob and Steve strolled in. "What's going on? I knew Joe shouldn't have left you in charge." He growled at Justin.

"Get out of my face. Nothing's wrong." Justin said, pushing Steve away from him and then looking down at Brianna. "Did you call him too, Little Bit?" He asked.

Brianna nodded. "Yup, I told you we needed more people."

"More people for what?" Steve asked.

"The wedding." Brianna said, exasperated.

"What wedding?" Lance, Chris, and Steve all asked.

"Shit." Justin swore, running his hands through his hair as Chris turned to answer the door once again.

Brianna giggled behind her hand as JC's brother Tyler came through the door. "What's going on? Is somebody hurt?" He asked, looking at the men gathered in the entryway.

"Nobody's hurt. There's some wedding going on that we're trying to find out about but the only two that seem to know about it aren't making any sense." Lance said, staring pointedly at Justin.

"Duh, it's his wedding." Brianna said, pointing at Justin and rolling her eyes at the dumb grownups that didn't seem to be listening to her.

"Your wedding?" Echoed through the room as the doorbell sounded once again.

Justin looked frantically at Brianna. "Good lord who else did you call?" He asked and then turned white. "I love you, Bri Girl, but if you called Johnny I'm going to seriously think of never speaking to you again." Justin warned pointing at the little girl.

Brianna shook her head and pushed past the men in front of the door. Everyone held their breath as she opened the door. A gasp was heard as all five Backstreet Boys entered.

"Shit, Johnny would've been better." Justin moaned, hiding his face in his hands.

Nick rushed to Lance's side. "What's going on? You sounded upset when I got your message saying Brianna had called you over here. I came right over here first and wouldn't even take the guys' home." He explained, wrapping a protective arm around his boyfriend's waist.

"JC's gonna shit." Justin groaned leaning back against the wall and banging his head.

"Is everybody here now, Short Stuff?" Chris asked, bending down to talk to Brianna.

Brianna smiled brightly. "Yup, that's everybody I called. But it's even better now because Uncle Nick came too and brought the others. I was gonna call you but your picture fell off the board by your phone number and so did AJ's and Howie's so I didn't know which one was yours." Brianna said, referring to the board that Kelly had made for her with each of the guy's pictures next to their phone numbers.

"Ok ok, so everybody's here tell us what is going on." Steve ordered, glaring at Justin.

"Eat me." Justin growled, turning away from them all and heading into the living room.

~*~

"What is going on? Who all is out there?" JC asked, grasping Justin's arms in his hands the second he walked through the door.

"Let go." Justin said, looking down at JC's clutching hands.

JC released Justin's arms abruptly.

Justin turned to lock the door and then slowly faced JC. "You might wanna sit down." He said.

"Oh shit, this isn't good. " JC said, moving the hem of the dress aside enough so that he didn't step on it when he sat down on the sofa. "Now tell me what's going on." He said, wringing his hands in his lap.

Justin stepped back out of JC's reach before speaking quickly. "Brianna sort of called some people to be guests and shit for the wedding." He blurted.

JC took a deep breath before standing up and moving over in front of Justin. "Tell me that you didn't just say Brianna called people over." He pleaded.

Justin shrugged. "I'm sorry. I didn't know she was doing it."

"Shit, they can't come in here. They can't see me like this. You have to get rid of them." He said frantically.

"How? How the hell am I going to get rid of them without telling them everything? I know she's out there telling them now. They're gonna wanna come in here." Justin said, pacing back and forth across a three foot area of carpet.

"Oh god." JC moaned, dropping onto the sofa and burying his head in his hands.

"Let me see if I can sneak upstairs and get your clothes. At least they won't see you in this if they do find out what's going on." Justin said, running his hand lightly over JC's head.

"No. Don't leave me alone. They'll find a way to get in here. You know Chris is part monkey he'll climb in the window or something. Don't leave me alone to face them." JC pleaded, wrapping Justin's hand in both of his.

Justin pried his hand out of JC's. JC smiled gratefully at him when he sat beside him and wrapped him in his arms.

They sat in silence for nearly five minutes before the pounding on the door began. "Yo, J. Open the door. We wanna see your bride." Chris shouted amidst loud laughter.

JC shuddered burying his face in Justin's neck.

"Fuck off." Justin yelled, pulling JC closer.

"Aww, come on, Jus. I bet she's pretty." Steve said, wiggling the doorknob.

A second later a lighter knock was heard on the door. "You promised me a wedding, Uncle Justin. Let us in so we can have our wedding. Everybody's gonna play and they all know their parts too." Brianna said.

"Just a minute, Bri." Justin called before turning to look at JC. "Shit. I can't disappoint her, Jayce." He whispered.

"I know." JC said, sighing and picking nervously at the sheer sleeve around his wrist.

Justin took JC's hand in his own. "If it really bothers you that much we won't go along with this. I mean I see no way of you getting out of here without them seeing you but you don't have to go along with this play wedding."

"It's not that I don't want to. I mean it's cool and it would make Brianna happy. It's just all of them." JC said, waving his arm in the direction of the door.

Justin ran his thumb in soft circles over JC's wrist. "Does the idea of even pretending to marry me bother you that much?" He asked softly.

"No, I just... can I ask you something?" JC asked, looking up to meet Justin's eyes.

Justin nodded. "Of course you can. Ask me anything I don't mind." He assured the older man.

"Why have we never... I mean I'm gay and you're gay. So why have we never hooked up or whatever? Are you not attracted to me?" JC asked, looking back down at their entwined hands.

Justin snorted. "Not attracted to you. Yeah right. JC I've wanted you for as long as I can remember. You were the one that never showed any interest."

"You were too young. And then by the time you were old enough you just didn't seem interested." JC said, glancing quickly back up at Justin.

Justin shook his head and chuckled. "Oh I was interested. I've always been interested. Just ask Lance. I used to drive him nuts talking about you all the time back when we still had to share rooms."

JC laughed lightly. "I think we're both idiots."

Justin nodded his agreement.

"So what are we gonna do? The natives are beginning to get restless again." He said; referring to the knocking that had resumed.

Justin shrugged. "I don't know. Do you wanna go through with this play wedding thing or make a run for it as soon as the door is open?" He asked.

"I don't mind doing it I guess. It could be fun and it's all for Brianna anyway. The guys gotta understand. I mean any of them would do just about anything for her too, right?" JC asked, playing with Justin's fingers and looking up at him nervously.

"They say they wouldn't but when it comes right down to it I don't think a one of them could tell her no." Justin said.

JC nodded. "So we'll do it. We'll let them in and just make asses of ourselves and have fun doing it. Only one thing though." JC said, peeking up at Justin through his lashes.

"What, Baby?" Justin asked, reaching up to rub his thumb softly over JC's cheek.

JC grinned. "I like it when you call me that." He said.

Justin leaned forward and kissed JC's forehead. "I like calling you that. But what's the one thing?" He asked.

"I don't want our first real kiss to be in front of everybody during this pretend wedding." JC said quietly.

Justin pushed JC's face up lightly with a finger under his chin. "It doesn't have to be." He said, leaning toward JC.

JC smells like vanilla Justin thinks as his lips press softly to JC's, and that is his last thought before he loses himself in the sweetness of JC's mouth. They kiss for what seems like hours but in reality probably isn't even five minutes before the banging on the door increases in volume. They separate reluctantly with Justin vowing to hurt their so called friends.

"Maybe we should let them in now." JC whispered his forehead pressed against Justin's.

"Uh huh." Justin said but doesn't move to open the door.

JC chuckled and then pressed a light kiss to the end of Justin's nose. "Go let them in. The sooner we get this over with the sooner I can get out of this dress."

Justin wiggled his eyebrows lasciviously. "Any chance I might be able to help you out of that dress?" He asked.

"No. We're still babysitting, remember?" He said, laughing and pushing Justin away lightly. "Now go open the door."

"It's about time." Chris said, rushing past Justin the second he opened the door.

"Where's the blushing bride?" AJ asked, pushing past the men standing still just inside the door.

Everyone began laughing and talking at once. Justin wrapped an arm around JC and whispered in his ear how beautiful he was and JC just smiled not minding the teasing at all.

"Can we get married now?" Brianna asked, standing up on the sofa and shouting in order to be heard.

In short order everyone had taken their places and they were about to begin the wedding. Brian it was decided was to be the minister and Brianna had insisted that he dress the part. She'd found him an old black suit of Joey's that was probably at least four sizes too big for him. Kevin the father of the groom sat frowning beside the weeping mother Chris who had gone all out and worn one of Kelly's good dresses for the occasion. Tyler the bride's father gave him away while his mother AJ silently wept. The bridesmaid Nick wore a pale yellow gown and flirted with the best man Lance who wore a tuxedo to match the groom's. The ring bearer Howie walked proudly down the aisle with the flower girl Brianna. And the photographer Steve video taped the joyous event.

Around the time that everyone was throwing rice on the still kissing bride and groom the front door opened.

"What the hell is going on here?" Joey bellowed, standing inside the living room with his gaping wife beside him.

"We just had a wedding, Daddy. Isn't it wonderful?" Brianna asked, beaming at her parents.

Joey and Kelly looked around once again at the wedding reception. Kevin the groom's father was shoving his wife Chris away from him with a hand on the face. The bride's mother AJ was attempting to get the groom's father Tyler drunk by plying him with vodka shots. The best man Lance had the bridesmaid Nick backed up in the corner with a hand up his dress. The minister Brian walked amongst the wedding party shaking his head and praying for the souls of each and every one of them. The ring bearer Howie sat on the floor in front of the coffee table where he'd been playing a rousing game of candy land with the flower girl Brianna. And of course Steve the photographer was still video taping everything.

"What are you guy's doing back? You just left a few hours ago." Justin said once he and JC had finally come up for air.

"There was an accident and we were stuck in traffic for two hours and then the car broke down. We decided to just give up for this weekend and try again in a couple of weeks. It looks like we should've come home sooner. You've all lost your damn minds." Joey said, shaking his head in disbelief and looking around again.

Justin grinned at Joey. "So that means you won't be needing us anymore tonight, right?" He asked, holding JC's hand tightly and pulling him close beside him.

Joey shook his head. "No and probably never again." He said.

Justin whooped and bent over pressing his shoulder into JC's middle. He stood with JC tossed over his shoulder and grinned at Joey. "In that case we'll just be going." He said.

"Going where? What is going on around here?" Joey shouted at Justin's retreating back.

"It's my wedding night. Call me tomorrow." Justin said, swatting a giggling JC's behind which was over his shoulder and heading out the door.
