Captain Salmalin was watching his elves preparing his ship, a hawkship, for the forthcoming storm. His mage, Telan, had predicted the storm days ago. But this storm was much bigger and stronger than first predicted. As they sailed into the storm day turned into night. When the storm was on its highest, Salmalin ordered his men under deck and put his trust to the mage Telan to keep the ship safe. Next day the storm was gone but so was Telan. Salmalin did not understand this, Telan was a powerful mage and would not fall to a thunderstorm like this? Without his mage Salmalin decided to sail back to Ulthuan, still he could not understand why?
Telan was standing on the deck, controlling the ships movements and course thru the storm. Rain and strong winds hit the magic shield he had raised to his own protection, but what was that? He had sensed something on the outer of his cosines, but no living thing would travel in this weather and not on sea! Maybe it was just nothing, he turned his attention on the storm again. In the next second a dark shadow covered the weak moonlight. It was a furious beast with red glowing eyes, the sight of this monster stunned Telan and then he knew what it was, something he had only heard of in the horror stories his mom had told him. A Dark Pegasus, only the foul druchi's had learned to control these beasts, and if they where here he had to. Telan never finished that thought as a dagger coated in black venom went into his body. The bearer grabbed him as he felt on the deck, Telans vision was beginning to fade when his murderer looked him right in the eyes. Telan could only look in horror as the assassin removed his hood and showed him his face, a face that Telan would remember for the rest of his short life and in all eternity beyond life..
