"Malerier" is the title of Harald Hougaard next album. The music is "based" on a painting from 1966 - actually made by Harald himself as a child.
The cover consists of 15 small pictures. I do not understand the meaning of the pictures. Perhaps there is a kind of story, perhaps not.......is there a "theme"? - I don't know, but some of the pictures are connected to each other, I think.
I have taken the liberty to name the small pictures - what I can "see", but I am open for other intrepretations too.
Since the chance of getting a recordcompany interested in this kind of music, I guess i will have to make just a very limited number of records. And a limited number of them will have special artwork - perhaps a little artistic booklet following the album.
"Malerier" is the norwegian word for paintings. I dream of making a booklet with paintings from various artist and graphical designers. The paintings should be interpretations of the 15 small pictures (segments) of the cover. I should inform that there is no money in this (at least not yet). Of course, if a recordcompany is interested, there might be some fame and fortune for the contributors. Oh yeah...dream of it.....
If you would like to contribute with some artwork, take a look at the pictures below. It could be anything, as long as it has got something to do with the pictures. The format is not yet decided, but what I am thinking of now is a booklet in A5 format with one picture at one page. It should be "artistic".... high quality paper etc.
