Masks |
Postman's Hat: Anju and Kafei quest (see FAQ). Get the hat from the Clock Town postman. Can use it to look into mail boxes. Keaton Mask: Get it from Kafei during the Anju and Kafei quest. Bremen Mask: Go to the Laundry Pool at night and talk to Guru Guru, the guy with the music box. If you put the Bremen mask on, you can march around playing the Ocarina and animals will follow you. You need this mask for the Cucco game in Romani Ranch. Bunny Ears: You get this from the weird punk at Romani Ranch after you complete the Cucco game. It lets you run faster and hence jump further. Kafei Mask: Talk to Madame Aroma in the mayor's office (not on the third day). She'll give you the mask of her son and you have to go wear it whilst talking to people to get hints on his whereabouts. Don Gero (frog) Mask: Get this from the hungry Goron in Mountain Village. Inside the Goron shrine, light the torches, to start the chandelier spinning. Then smash the chandelier by rolling from the baby Goron's room onto the pots and take the "Dodongo Rock Sirloin" that falls out. Give this to the Goron and he gives you the frog mask. You can talk to frogs with this mask on. Mask of Scents: After finishing Woodfall Temple, go to the right of Deku Palace and try to follow the Deku butler through the maze. (A good deal harder than the Dampe Race in TOoT.) This mask sniffs out mushrooms in the woods (a purple patch) which you can put into bottles and sell to Kuome. Great Fairy Mask (She doesn't look like a fairy, she looks like something else!): When Link is back in his human form, catch the stray fairy in East Clock Town (or sometimes by the Laundry Pool) and take it back to her. This mask is used to catch stray fairies in dungeons. If you're in a room with a stray fairy, the hair starts sparkling and once you've freed the fairy, it will fly towards you. Mask of Truth: Complete the Swamp Spider House. Wearing the mask, you can talk to Gossip Stones and animals. Bomb Mask: At 00:00 on the first day, go to North Clock Town. There, you'll witness Sakon the thief trying to steal a bag off an old lady. Stop the thief and the old lady will give you a bomb maks. This mask is highly useful when you need to explode a wall but you have no bombs. Couple's Mask: Finish the Kafei and Anju quest (see FAQ). Wearing this mask, talk to the people in Major Doute's room to get a heart piece (it calms down arguments). Romani's Mask: Protect Romani Ranch from intruding ghosts on the first night. The next day around 18:00, go with Crimea into town on her wagon. She takes a detour and you have to use your arrows to keep the attacking Gorman Bros away. Use this mask to enter the Milk Bar. Circus Leader's Mask: Once in the Milk Bar, speak to the fat Zora guy and agree to help him test the stage or something. Go to him as Link, Deku Link, Goron Link and Zora Link. Each time he'll tell you to stand under a different spotlight and lay a different tune. When it's all done, you see a Link concert, four different Links playing one song. The song is supposed to be the Ballad of the Windfish, but it sounds much worse than the original one from Link's Awakening. Anyway, the Gorman Brother at the counter will be so touched by the music, he'll start crying and you get his mask. So far I have no clue what this mask brings, except to make the Gorman bros cry, All Night Mask: At 0:00 on the first day, stop Sakon from robbing the old woman in North Clock Town. Then from 22:00 on the last day, you can buy the All Night Mask from the Curiosity Store for 500 rupees. To get the wallet that can hold 500 rupees, you have to complete the Great Bay Spider house on the first day. You can wear the All Night Mask to listen to Grandma's stories (at Stock Pot Inn). Without the mask, Link keeps falling asleep and you don't get to see the pictures in the book! Stone Mask: Go to Ikana Canyon. At the place where there's a ghost sitting on the cliff, look around for a stone circle. Use the Lens of Truth to talk to the soldier in the circle and get the Stone Mask. This might help on the Kafei Anju quest so that Sakon doesn't see you. Captain's Hat: Go to Ikana Graveyard and battle the big skeleton (play Sonata of Awakening). Try not to lose sight of him (hit him with arrows), avoid the fire walls and battle little skeletons. The bunny hood and razor or gilded sword is very useful in this battle. With the Captain's Hat you can talk to the little skeletons in Ikana Graveyard (and the Great Bay Spider House). The skeletons will open the graves and you can get different goodies each night (heart piece, empty bottle, Song of Storms). Garo's Mask: Win the Gorman Horse Race. You need this mask to get to Ikana Canyon (and Sakon's hideout). Gibdo Mask: Play the Song of Storms to the Poe in the cave by Ikana Village. Once the spring fills with water, Pamela, the girl in the music box house will come out. Wait until she goes quite far and sneak into her Music Box house (if she sees you she'll run back and lock the door). In the basement Pamela's father is in the cupboard. Play the Song of Healing and get the Gibdo mask. Note: Don't go too near Pamela's father when he falls out of the cupboard or Pamela will come back and kick you out the house, You can talk to Gibdos with the mask on. Kamaro's Mask: At night on Termina field, go to the entrance to the mountains and listen for music. On one of the frozen mushroom things is the dancer Kamaro. Speak to him to get the mask. Wearing the mask, dance in front of the Rosa Sisters in West Clock Town to get a heart piece. Giant's Mask: You get this in the last room before the boss in the very last Temple. This mask turns Link into a giant and you'll need it to beat the last boss, TwinMold. However, you can only use this the TwinMold bosses' room. Fierce Deity's Mask: Aw yeah! This is the most amazing item that exists in the entire pixilated world of Zelda. To get this mask you need to have all 23 other masks. On the night of the last day at 12, go onto the clock tower and start the battle with the Skullkid. Once the battle begins play the song you learnt after defeating the first boss (the something of Order...I can't remember the name...you know, the song that makes the swamp water nrmal again). After a long cut scene, Link will be on a flowering field (the clock on the bottom of the screen is not there). Go speak to the kids running around a tree and solve the four dungeons and give them the masks (don't worry you get the masks back the next time you play). After you've given all the masks away, talk to the kid sitting against the tree and he'll give you the Fierce Deity Mask. Basically, this mask makes Link grow up...not into the little 17 year old elf from TOoT but an evil, powerful demi-god. Oni Link is so powerful that you basically cream any enemy that's unfortunate enough to get Z-targeted, this includes the very last boss. So if you want a challenge in the last battle, DON'T use the Oni Link mask...cause if you use it you'll pulverize Majora's Mask in 2 seconds and there's no fun in that! |
