Tokyo Xtreme Racer series is recognized for its unique game concept tailored for street racing. Here's how the title's gameplay is unique from other racers- Abandoning the standard checkered flag and finish line, players challenge a rival on the road by flashing their high beams. A "power bar" flashes above the competing cars and wanes when a car falls behind. With over 200 parts and the ability to customize any vehicle, gamers are sure to find plenty of racers ready to put the pedal to the metal.

Developed by Genki, TXR: Zero features jaw-dropping graphics and special effects, including reflective mapping on cars, blurred brake lamps, and flying sparks on wall collisions. In addition, TXR: Zero heightens highway-racing excitement by placing more cars on screen for players to dodge. This newest addition to Genki's roster of titles is predicted to be the best yet in street racing simulation. TXR: Zero also includes a two-player mode so that fans of the series can now enjoy heart-pounding, head-to-head races with their friends.

Over 100 miles of authentic Tokyo highway are all accurately mapped, interconnected and feature working entrance and exit ramps. The game features a variety of different play modes including; Quest, Quick, Free Run, and Time Attack. The Quest mode features "Battle Naming System" (BNS), where the computer assigns player a nickname based on battle time, top speed, top cornering speed, number of collisions and enemy blocking ratio.

Get ready- TXRZ will be released March 2001, which isn't too far away... And by the looks of these screenshots, this could be one of PS2's best-looking racers!
