Moto GP

There's no real competition to the motorbike racing genre on the PS one and definitely not the Playstation 2. Championship Motocross might have sewn up the off-road side of the sport but it looks like Moto GP might just set the pace for PS2. The game is much more than a simple arcade-port. Yes, it has all the pseudo-arcade handling that made the arcade machine such a big hit but now there are some extra bells and whistles to keep the console punters happy. While not very realistic as a feature, you can customise the five authentic tracks in the game (Suzuka, Paul Ricard, Jerez, Donnington and Motegi). Also, a Championship Season mode has been added so that you get some longevity out of the racing. In this mode you can select a team and take part in five races a season. Meet the team's objectives for the period and you'll get to take part in the next round of the Championship. There are even some GT-style challenges for you to try which if completed successfully will enable you to unlock some secret bonuses like new bikes.
