My Scout



This is my cousin and me hooking it up to tow it back to WI.



Familiar position. (that's a glare, not a scratch).



Took bumpers off '74 Scout, sandblasted, and painted them.








I put original Scout II wheels and covers back on it. (not shown)


The following are pictures of my adapted Holley Pro-Jection. I had to machine the intake holes out 1/2 inch diameter bigger to match the Holley.








I had this Scout up to 120mph, and it was still climbing. Talk about a tank! It started to shimmy pretty bad, so I slowed down.

VEHICLE: 1976 International Harvestor Corp. (IHC) Scout II
ENGINE: 345ci V-8
TRANSMISSION: 727 Torqueflight, 3-speed automatic, about 60,000 miles on tranny, still tight and strong
TRANSFER CASE: Dana 20, 2-speed (1:1,2:1)
LOCKERS: Warn Manual Lockouts
AXLES: Dana 44, front and rear
BRAKES: Disc front, Drum rear, new rotors, pads, drums, shoes, and master cylinder
FUEL DELIVERY: Holley 670cfm 2D Pro-Jection (2bbl TBI), K&N Air Filter
MPG BEFORE HOLLEY: 12mpg
MPG AFTER HOLLEY: About 15mpg, but lots more power
STEREO: Sony CD-player
MILEAGE: ?? I put in a brand new cam and lifters in 1998, and each cylinder passed leak test.


I also put a ball on the rear bumper and installed a trailer lights plug. There is a single roll bar mounted inside, in case the top is ever taken off and you want to look cool.
