Quote of the day: “Musick is the thing of the world that I love most.” - Samuel Pepys

BIG excitement around my house this week. Well, ok, I’m the excited one, and my parents are doing a lot of smiling and nodding and “yes dear”ing. :-) Stacy and Melanie and I are about to take the Big Apple by storm! Well, I’ve got to live through six weeks of school and such first, but then we’re going to have a blast, and I’ve got to warn you all, I may never come home. The most exciting part is finally getting to meet Melanie. Well, ok, *the* most exciting part might be the chance that I’ll get to come face to face with Rex Smith, but after that I’m most excited about meeting Melanie. :-) Plus, I’ll get to see The Scarlet Pimpernel and Titanic - two shows I’ve been waiting about twelve years to see. Well, maybe not quite twelve years, but sometimes it feels like that! At this point I don’t know what else we’re going to do or say, but that’ll be enough for me! We’re going to have so much fun!!! I’m sure this topic will pop up again from time to time over the next six weeks, so I’ll leave it for now. :-)
I hope everyone’s Christmas/New Year’s was as great as mine. Well, New Year’s wasn’t very exciting since I had to work, but I made nearly $300 which will really help to pay for NYC (see, I told you it would come up again - I don’t think about much else these days! :-), so it all balances out. And Christmas was fantastic. Lots of family time and love and laughter. It was so great to have my sister and her boyfriend home again, and to get to see all of my cousins and family. There was one point when my mother’s entire family was together in the same room (which doesn’t happen very often anymore!), and I just looked around and realized how much all these people mean to me. I feel the same way about my dad’s family too, which I realize puts me in a very lucky position. And, of course, I got lots of presents, so I’m all set now for a new year with clothes and cds and books, plus a new desk chair, since my old one was one that broke and my dad welded back together, and everytime I shifted it creaked so loudly my neighbours were complaining (and for once, I’m not exaggerating! :-). My housemates claim the new chair was really a gift from my parents to all of them!
Well, I guess that’s all for now. Back to Kingston on Sunday, back to classes on Monday, and then counting the days until it’s all over so I can count the days until work is all over so I can go back to class. Someday I’m going to break out of my rut, I swear! Well, in six weeks I will, anyway! (There I go again!) Ta ta for now!
