After our few days trekking through the Annapurna region, we next tamed the mighty Seti River. Well, it wasn't really that mighty, but it was considerably less polluted and noisy than the more popular Tisuli River, and it was a very relaxing way to spend a couple of days. The river, however, obviously wasn't unpolluted enough for one member of our party who made a very pained plea that she shouldn't be splashed lest she caught something from the water. The predictable water fight and raft boarding parties ensued...
The scenery along the Seti was very pleasant
indeed. The banks were densely forested and very steep, but occasionally
the sun would stream through a gap in the trees and light up the whole valley.
We camped on the first night at a village called Ghat. In contrast to some
of the villages we'd visited in the mountains, this was quite unspoilt and
the villagers just went about their daily business while we were there.
They were, however, growing some very interesting crops, err...
On the second day of rafting, we spent more time swimming rather than we actually spent in the boat and we eventually drifted along to the village of Jugudi where we spent the night before heading on to Chitwan National Park.
