Lending A Hand

By Bekka Mouri

(Bekka’s side of how she helped Gina.)

Bekka worried about where she and Namira would have to sleep.  The tavern keeper had to be wrong; there just HAD to be a room available.  She looked at her companions, “ I don’t know what we’re going to do… “ Her voice trailed off as she fell to the floor.

Ryat raced to her side, as did Namira and a few other people.  Ryat when to sit her up but Namira stopped him.  “ Please, take care in moving her, “ She placed her slender hand on his strong arm.  “ She is with child. “

Ryat blinked down at Bekka, “ Oh gods.  How long? “

“ I’m not sure.  Possibly three months, maybe a little less, “ Namira looked down at her friend.

Ryat eased her into a sitting position in triple slow motion and checked her.  She was still breathing and had her eyes closed.  She seemed to be having one of the spells she had when they first met.  They worried him but Bekka said they didn’t bother her at all.

“ Maybe she’s just tired, “ Namira said, taking one of her hands.

~ I hope that is all it is, ~ Ryat thought, hoping she was all right.

Bekka shook her head and looked around.  She was no longer in the tavern but a surrealistic world where everything looked foggy.  She wondered where she was when someone appeared from the fog.  An eight-year-old boy with red gold streaked hair and reddish brown eyes looked at her.

He wore an outfit much like Hermaeus’ and Bekka tried to back away.  He reached out with one of his small hands, “ I need your help. “

“ Who are you? “ Bekka stammered.

“ I am your son although I won’t look like this for quite awhile yet, “ The boy said quickly.  “ We can talk about that later.  One of your friends is in danger as well as the boy who is to be my friend when we are older. “

            “ Who’s in danger? “ Bekka asked.

“ Princess Gina.  Mehrunes is going to hurt her but you can stop it.  You have to come with me or he will hurt her and kill Kennith. “

Bekka took his hand and a flash of light blinded her.  A moment later, she stood in a different part of the realm.  Another young boy was in front of them, curled up in a tight ball.  Bekka knelt down to him, “ Are you okay? “

The boy looked up at her.  He looked just like a miniature version of Keith but a little like Gina too. Tears streamed down his face as he pleaded,  “ Please help my mother.  That bad man will hurt her if you don’t. “

“ What bad man? “ Bekka blinked and looked around.

A looking glass appeared, showing a very bloody Mehrunes advancing on Gina.  She continued to watch in horror as he ripped at her clothes from her, his bionic organ at full attention.  “ THAT bad man! “ The boy pointed.

“ But how? “ Bekka was scared for Gina but felt helpless.

“ Mother, take my hand, “ The red/gold headed boy put his hand to out to Bekka.

She took it and was suddenly standing in the cell next to Gina.  Mehrunes had her pinned to the wall and was licking her exposed flesh.  She could hear the boy she assumed was Kennith whimpering louder as his fear grew.  She could hear Keith, Treize and other shouting as well.

Gina cried out mentally: ‘Oh Bekka! Give me strength...’
Bekka watched more of the scene play out, her stomach twisting slightly as Mehrunes looked up at Gina with what was left of his face.  He told her it was time and she gasped as Gina told him to bring it on.  She let out another gasp as Gina impaled his foot with one of her high heels.  She had thought of that herself and it surprised her; it was almost like she had transmitted the idea to Gina.
Bekka watched in shock at what unfolded next.  She had never seen anything so gory in her life.  Mehrunes fell to the floor, looking up at Gina in disbelief.  Gina began to approach him, Bekka sticking close to her, morbid fascination driving her to see the man who had made her life hell.
Gina stood over him and their eyes locked.  “DO it, Bitch,” He whispered.
Gina raised the whip high and Bekka couldn’t control herself.  “ YES!  Gina!  YES! “ She shouted loudly.
~Bekka? ~ Gina sent the message out but Bekka didn’t answer verbally.  Instead, she wrapped her unseen hand around Gina’s.  Vengeance rose in her blood as she and Gina used the Devastation whip to behead Mehrunes.  Bekka leaned into Gina’s ear, and whispered:  “ You’ve done well, my Lady. Even my father will be proud of you.”
Suddenly, Bekka was back with the two boys.  Before she could realize it, Kennith jumped up and wrapped his arms around her waist.  “ You did it!  You did it!  You saved my mother! “
“ I wouldn’t quite say that.  We just had the same thought at the same time, that’s all, “ Bekka blushed a little.
The red/gold headed boy hugged Bekka next.  “ That may be true but you did help her cut that vile man’s head off.  I knew you could do it, mother. “
A tear slipped down Bekka’s cheek, “ If you say so. “
Kennith pulled away, “ Miss Bekka? “
“ What? “ Bekka looked down into his eyes.
“ Have you named him yet? “ Kennith pointed towards her son.
Bekka shook her head, “ No.  Not yet. “
Kennith sighed, “ I guess I’ll just have to call him ‘kid’ for a little while longer then. “
Bekka’s son tugged at her hand, “ Come on.  We have to get back to the tavern.  Your friends are worried. “
“ Okay, “ Bekka said, her world suddenly becoming black.

“ I think she’s waking up, Ryat! “ Namira said as Bekka fluttered her eyelids open.
Ryat rushed over to the bedside.  “ Bekka!  Are you okay? “
Bekka looked around the room, “ I thought there weren’t any rooms left. “
“ This is the innkeeper’s quarters and he has an extra room here.  He said we could stay in here tonight.  He didn’t think we could make it to the next town.
               “ Oh, “ Bekka yawned.  “ Gods, I am so tired. “
Ryat looked down at the floor, “ You had another one of those spells. “
It took Bekka a moment to realize what he meant.  When she communicated with Hermaeus, she would lose consciousness.   “ Oh.  It’s been so long… I thought those went away. “
Namira blinked, “ What are you talking about? “
“ I’ll tell you later, “ Bekka sighed.  “ Right now, I want to sleep. “
Ryat nodded, “ I think that would be best.  See you when you wake. “
“ Yeah, “ Bekka yawned and shut her eyes.
