This is my first simple HEART PATTERN. A heart pattern will become the basis
of many of the "Country Craft" Tutorials.
This has been developed in PSP 6.02 and you will need a knowledge of layers to complete it. Graphics have been reduced in size to help with Download time.

Level of difficulty: Beginners Beginners

1. Open new image, width="350" height="350", 16.7 million colors, White. Add a new layer and name it "square."
Make your background color "white" and your foreground color "beige" ["#FFE4B5"].

Click on the Selections Tool Selections Tool and in the "Tool Options Pallet," Tool Options Pallet select square/antialias checked. Set your cursor on co-ordinates 110 x 110 and draw your mouse down and to the right until you reach co-ordinates 310 x 310. Release mouse button. You now have a square of "marching ants" 200 x 200.

Click on the "Flood Fill Tool" Floodfill Tool and left click inside the square. Deslect. Selections/select none or [control+D].

2. Add a new layer and name it "circle 1."
Click on the Selections Tool Selections Tool and in the "Tool Options Pallet," Tool Options Pallet box change to circle/antialias checked. Place your cursor on co-orinates 110 x 210 and draw a circle until the circle edges touch the square edges. Release your mouse button. You will have a circle of "marching ants."

Click on the "Flood Fill Tool" Floodfill Tool and left click inside your circle. Deslect.

3. Add a new layer and name it "circle 2."
Click on the Selections Tool Selections Tool again and with the same circle settings, start your second circle at co-ordinates 210 x 110, and draw a circle until the edges reach the square edges. "Marching ants" appear.
Click on the "Flood Fill Tool" Floodfill Tool, then left click with your mouse inside this new circle. Deselect.

4. Activate your "Layers Option Pallet" Layers Options Pallet. Turn off your bottom layer [layer 1]. Go to "layers/merge/merge visible."
Make sure you are on your new merged layer. Click on the "Magic Wand Tool" Magic Wand Tool and click inside the heart shape. The "marching ants" will appear around your heart. Go to image/rotate and rotate 45 degrees to the right. With you "mover tool" place your heart in the center of your image.
Turn on your background or layer 1. Go to layers/merge/merge visble.
Now save your image as a .psp file so that you may work on the pattern at any time.
File/save as/ = type name "heart pattern" [make sure file type is .psp] and click ok.

Congratulations! You have finished.
Now you are ready to use your heart as a basis
for many Country Craft Creations.
