This is a tutorial to show what can be done with the simple HEART PATTERN.
It is designed with PSP 6.02 but can be completed in other versions with some adjustments.
Once you start your imagination will come up with many other ideas. Have fun.

Level of difficulty: Beginners Beginners

1. Open your image that you have made of the Heart, [I have used the Simple Heart Pattern #1] width="350" height="350". You now have 2 layers.
Activate your layer 1. Right click on it. Click on properties and in the dialogue box that comes up, change layer 1 to background layer and do the same for layer 2. Change it to "heart" layer.
Click on the "Color Options pallet." Color Options Pallet Make your background color "white" and your foreground color "beige" ["#FFE4B5"]

Activate your "heart" layer. Click on the "Magic Wand Tool" Magic Wand Tool and then click inside your heart, the "marching ants" will appear around your heart shape.
Go to image/effects/inner bevel. Click OK. Deselect and the "marching ants" will disappear.

2. Change your foreground color to a suitable contrasting color to your heart, like a dark gold color, "#BCAD74."
Activate the "background layer." Click on the "Flood Fill Tool" Floodfill Tool and in the "Tool Options Pallet," Tool Options Pallet, make sure you have "solid color" chosen. Click with your left mouse button on the area outside your heart. This will fill your background layer with your foreground color.
As an alternative you could choose a "background tile" as I have. Make sure that on the "Tool Options Pallet" Tool Options Pallet you change from solid color to pattern. Go to the second or middle tab, and scroll down until you find the "tile" that you have selected and opened. [Don't forget to change back to solid color before leaving the "Tool Options Pallet."]

3. Add a new layer and name it "tube."
Click on the "Tube Tool" Tube Tool and when the "Tool Options Pallet" Tool
Options Pallet opens, choose a suitable tube. Left click in the center of your heart shape on this tube layer. If the tube image is too large, click on "undo" and change the percentage in the "Tube Tool Options Pallet." Do this until you have the correct size tube image.
Click on the "Mover Tool" Mover Tool and place the tube image where it looks just right to you. I have chosen a "harvest image" tube that I have made myself.

4. Make sure you are still on your "tube" layer. Add a new layer and name it "text."
Change your forground color to a dark color. [I have chosen a dark brown color for mine]. Click on the "Text Tool" Text Tool and then left click with your mouse button on the heart shape above your tube image. On the "Tool Options Pallet" Tool Options Pallet select the Font type and the size. Now type in "Welcome Friends" and click OK. With your "mover tool" place your text where it appears to be just right for you.
5. Click on the Selections Tool Selections Tool and when the "Tool Options Pallet" appears, choose circle/antialias checked. Draw a small circle near the top of your heart. "Marching ants" will appear around your circle.

Click on the "Flood Fill Tool" Floodfill Tool and in the "Tool Options Pallet," Tool Options Pallet choose "solid color." Then left click inside the circle and it will be filled with your dark brown color.
Go to image/effects/inner bevel and click OK. Deselect. Go to layers/merge/merge all flatten. Save as a .jpg image. I have named mine as: "plaque 1.jpg"

Congratulations! You have finished.
Now you are ready to use your imagination and your creativity and experiment with many other messages on your Heart Wall Plaques.
