Full Name: *is sitting on a park bench, eating a hotdog and flipping idly through the paper on her lunch break* *glances up at the question, then eeks as a large glob of ketchup splatters on her trousers* *tries to carefully wipe the stain with a spare newspaper, but only succeeds in making the mess much larger than it previously was* *gives up and grins cheerfully* Hey! Hi! I’m Slider. Well, no, that ain’t my real name, it’s my nickname. Don’t ask how I got it, it’s a long story. My real name is Janine Harvey. But don't call me that, ‘kay? It’s so…girly. *wrinkles up her nose in disgust* *transfers her hotdog to the other hand and rubs her fingers off on her grubby shirt, then holds out a hand to shake* Nice ta meet ya.
Age: *shrugs, as if the question were the last thing on her mind, and continues to watch her hotdog carefully* Oh, I’m eighteen by now. Ain’t it obvious? *glances down at her small bust and laughs ruefully* Well, no, I guess it ain’t. *shakes her head, still amused* ‘Course, it’s better this way, ya know. They ain’t always gettin’ in the way, like other girls’.
Appearance: *rests her lunch on her stack of newspapers, eyeing it warily lest it should fall off* *stands up to show herself off* Ta da! *is medium height, about 5’5”, with a mousy brown ponytail and brown eyes* *wears glasses, and is rather skinny and slenderly built, possessing very few curves of any kind* *is clothed in a filthy shirt that appears to have been white at some point in time, and brown trousers, cut off at mid-calf* What do ya think?
Background: *tilts her head, pondering the question* Ain’t much ta tell, really. My parents died when I was a baby, so I don’t ‘member them at all. I grew up at St. Mary’s, an’ when I got old enough, I left. *grins* Ended up here, sellin’ newspapers. ‘Course, b’fore I left, I was the baseball champion of the whole mission. *beams proudly* I used ta play centerfield, an’ I can out-hit, out-throw, out-run, an’ out-slide any boy I meet, honest! *is quite good at the game, though she does tend to brag and exaggerate her ability* *was indeed the best player at the mission, but has never played against anyone else*
Relationships: *blinks and sits back down, narrowly missing sitting on her meal* Ya mean like…boys? *shakes her head* Naw, that ain’t my style. I prefer playin’ games with ‘em, ‘stead of kissin’ ‘em. *is comfortable in her role of the buddy, not the girlfriend, and isn’t quite sure how to act around boys that see her as something more* *is something of a tomboy and puts on a brash front, but certainly wouldn’t be adverse to a boyfriend if one ever came along* *however, is not actively seeking one* *was telling the truth when she said she prefers playing games, preferably baseball, with them* *squints at the interviewer* If ya mean friends, though, yeah, I got a few good ones. *grins* Bel’s great. We’ve been friends for years. An’ the girls here’re nice. I like most of ‘em. *smiles*
Other notes: *takes a huge bite of her hotdog and chews thoughtfully, considering the question* *slowly* I think that just ‘bout covers it for now. *shrugs* If ya ever wanna know anythin’ else, just ask! *smiles and waves, then gives a little shriek as the remainder of the dog falls out of the bun and into the dirt*
