the Japanese Language
The Japanese language is very interesting and pretty and stuff. Look-I have it divided into three categories, for now...^.^;;
GRAMMER
I don't want to get into Japanese grammer right now. Lets just say...it's very different from western.
WRITING
The Japanese use three styles of writing...well, four, sorta. The first one that a child learns is ...hiragana is the phonetic "alphabet" used for short words, names and words of Chinese orgin. Kanji is also used for words of Chinese orgin...in fact, kanji characters are Chinese characters...each kanji symbol is unique (to some extent) for the word it represents. Katakana is the phonetic system that is used (in modern times, at least) for words that aren't of Chinese desent. The fourth writing system I was speaking of is romanji-the romanization of the Japanese symbols.
VOCABULARY
Hm. Well, I wasn't planning on doing a big piece on this...except that a friend (~pokes Manda-chan's belly a few times~) asked me to. Soooo....I have created to really small and really random Japanese/english dictonaries. PLEASE NOTE-these do NOT have the way the words are written in Japanese (at least not yet) and contain nothing about the grammer of these words. Um...yeah...
