She had grown quite fond of him during the past few months. They had started out as enemies, but after their trip to Santa Fe, a friendship developed. Sheridan stared at Luis a little longer. He was wearing gym shorts and a white tank top. "Gosh, he is gorgeous," she thought, with a smile as she admired his body. Sweat glistened over his rock-hard body as his muscles contracted while playing basketball. Sheridan couldn't stop staring. "Could I possibly like Luis," she thought to herself? "No way"
"Sheridan, Sheridan, earth to Sheridan" called Hank. She quickly snapped back into reality and turned around to see Hank. "Hi, Hank," she replied. "Where were you just a second ago? I was called you name a ton of times and you didn't answer," he asked. "Oh, I was just thinking about stuff, but what are you doing at the youth center?" she said as she quickly changed the subject.
Sheridan knew that Hank liked her very much, but he was not her type. She couldn't have told him that she was staring at his best friend thought so she had to make him forget about her being in a daze. Luis watched from afar as Hank and Sheridan chatted. He was a little jealous but would never admit it to either of them. He had seen a whole new side of Sheridan in Santa Fe. She wasn't the stuck up snob that the rest of the Cranes were. Sheridan was a very caring person, who was nothing like her brother, Julian.
Luis watched in awe of Sheridan's beauty as she talked to hank. "Wow, she is beautiful," he though. "But would never date anyone like me. It would never work."
Sheridan left the gym and Luis finished up with the kids playing basketball, and went over to join Hank "Hey, Luis, what's up? I hope you're not working my Sheridan too hard" kidded Hank. "Never, and she's not yours," replied Luis playfully. "Not yet, but someday." Replied Hank. "Sure, Hank," said Luis. "Look, when you really love someone you have to follow your heart," said Hank. "You love her?" questioned Luis.
"No, but I know you love Beth, and you need to follow your heart," said Hank. "Thanks for the advice, buddy," said Luis as he headed for the locker room.
Luis took a shower at the youth center and couldn't stop thinking of Sheridan and what Hank had said. "FOLLOW YOU HEART" Luis knows what he had to do.
****Later that night*****
Sheridan arrived home at her cottage after a long day at the youth center. All she wanted to do was to change into sweats and watch TV the rest of the night. She threw her coat down on the couch and noticed there was a note on her coffee tape. It was in a plain envelope with her name written on it. She wondered what it could be. She carefully opened up the note and read "meet me at the youth center tonight at 9pm" It didn't say who it was from but she assumed it was from Hank, since he had been trying to hook up with her since she came back to Harmony
"Man, Hank does not quit." She thought " I will have to tell him tonight that I don't want anything more than a friendship with him.
Sheridan relaxed a little and then gathered up her things on her way to the youth center. When she arrived at the center, she noticed that there were no other cars in the parking lot. She wondered if Hank was there yet. Sheridan walked in through the doors and made her way to the gymnasium. She was wearing a blue t-shirt and jeans. She didn't bother to dress up since it was only Hank.
Sheridan opened the door to the gym and her jaw dropped open. What she saw amazed her. An NSYNC song was playing on a radio somewhere in the room. There were flowers everywhere, and there wear little white lights all around the room giving it a glowing look. "It's beautiful in here," she said quietly. "How nice of Hank to do all this." Just then, Luis appeared from the equipment closet with a single rose saying, "Hank didn't do this. I did."
Luis smiled as he walked toward Sheridan. "You did this?" she questioned, "I thought you hated me, Luis?" "Hate you? I could never hate you, Sheridan," he said now just inches from her. "I've actually taken quite a liking to you." "Really," she said, staring deep into his eyes. "Yes," he said softly as he gently touched her face with his had.
They moved closer together until their bodies were touching. Luis kept brushing his fingers through her hair, and kept staring into her eyes. "You are so beautiful, you take my breath away, Sheridan," he said.
They both leaned in closer until their lips touched and they shared a soft passionate kiss. "I love you, Luis," said Sheridan with tears in her eyes. "You make me so happy. I am so glad I came back to Harmony and me you." "I love you too, Sheridan," he said as they kissed again, this time, more passionately. His hands roamed up and down her back while she ruffled his hair.
After their kiss, which seemed like an eternity, Sheridan asked, "What made you do all this tonight?" "Well," Luis said, still holding Sheridan in his arms "I knew if I didn't make my move soon, I might lose you to someone else. I had to follow my heart. I love you. My life wouldn't be complete without you."
"I couldn't have ever found true love without you, Luis," she said. "You are the love of my life." They kissed again as "I wanna love you forever" came on the radio. They both know they had found true love.
