The
1st Event of the Calendar for the Year 2002 was the IMS English
In-house debates in which a total of 14 participants spoke in favor and
against the topic. English in-house debates were held on July 26th,
2002 & IMS auditorium was the venue and a respectable crowd witnessed
the abilities of the speakers. |

The Debating Society organized another internal competition, which was highly appreciated by everyone. These events are a highlight of the IMS Yearly Calendar and are a very famous amongst the students. IMS held its own in-house debates on November 15th, 2002 at the college auditorium and was witnessed by a large crowd. A total of 20 participants spoke in favor and against the motion and expressed their views with a great emotional attachment. |

IMS
Quiz Trophy Competition is a new format competition in the list of
competitions organized by the IMS Literary society. The basic theme behind
this competition is to create an atmosphere of competition between the
different programs being conducted at IMS. 4 top students from each
program (MCS, MBA, BCS, BBA) are chosen to represent their program in the
final round of the competition.
IMS Quiz Trophy Competition has another significance as it is the
battle of brains and the prize is a RUNNING TROPHY. |
The 1st IMS Quiz Trophy Competition was held on November 22, 2002. In the preliminary round a total of 80 students participated from various programs. Out of which the final 16 were selected to participate in the final round of the trophy competition. |

As the Year 2002 was declared as Allama Iqbal Year by the Government of Pakistan thus IMS Debating Society a special round in the inaugural session of the 1st IMS QUIZ TROPHY Competition and a special emphasis was laid on the life of the great poet of the Indian sub-continent. Members of the IMS Debating Society took part in various conferences included regarding Alama Iqbal and his poetry. |
