Journeywoman Kestria's Skills

  1. Do you do MOO-code?
MOO-code. Not in so far as writing a verb or FO or something from scratch, but I can usually help figure out existing code. For example, I helped Coibre and Gelerin figure out the knock feature on rooms and exits. :) Although, having given up my prog bit I'm limited on what I can do. Unable to list out verbs myself can make things difficult. ;)
  2. How much patience do you have with helping newbies?
Patience with newbies is probably one of my fortes. Provided they're willing to listen, and sometimes even if they're not, I can usually be counted on to offer advice and steer them in the right direction. It's probably one of the things I enjoy most, oddly enough.
  3. Do you teach lessons? What kinds?
Teaching. Ick. I don't do it very well, and so tend to avoid it like the plague. I /have/ been pondering an Archives lesson if I can sort out the vague ideas I have and put them together in some coherent order. If pressed, I'd have to say I'm limited to teaching in the areas of Archives and philosophy.
  4. Are you willing to write up tips and guidelines on various subjects?
Tips and guidelines. I could probably do this if given a specific topic, like how to RP a firelizard well, but I think a lot of that type of stuff is already in the help files. :)
  5. Are you willing and able to write diplomatic mail?
Diplomatic mail. This I can do. Been there, done that, think I can do it well. :)
  6. What instruments do you play, OOCly?
Instruments. Piano and flute OOCly. :)
  7. Do you have any experience with music theory?
Music theory. It's a dark, dim, distant memory. I passed Grade II, but remember very, very little.
  8. Are you willing to help with grammatical editing?
Grammatical editing. I can help with this, although I'll never be the super wiz at it that 'Mak is. ;)
  9. Are you willing to help with the creation of descs?
Descs. Woo hoo! Yes. I can help with this as well.
  10. What Pern resources do you have? (DLG, Atlas, etc)
Pern resources. 1st edition DLG and Atlas and I think all the books except Master Harper.
  11. Do you have a place to post Harper-related information or logs?
Webpage for Harper info. At present, no. And while I could add a link off my current pages for HT Harper stuff, the problem I have is a dodgy ftp server with my ISP. Uploading files greater than 15K is just impossible. :P
  12. What areas is your character, ICly, skilled in? How much can you OOCly contribute to these areas?
IC skills. Archives and instrumental performance (hard to sing while playing a flute). OOC contribution in these areas. I guess that would depend on what was needed. I could probably explain bits and pieces of Archives such as the importance of accurate copying and the care of hides. I think I could probably also help in illustrating what a good instrumental pose is.
  13. Do you have any other OOC skills that may be useful to people seeking help?
Other OOC skills. Being a librarian. If people are looking for something on the web to help with a project I can probably find it pretty darn fast. And if it's obscure, I can be counted on to exhaust the search before I give up. (Case in point -- I'm /still/ looking for the source of a line of poetry someone asked about elseMOO and it's been a month.) ;)
