Those into cheap comparisons when it comes to Augie March can now summarily eat their words; Heartbeat is another remarkable progression for one of Melbourne's finest and most adventurous bands, with Paul McKercher's memorably out-there production giving this elusive nocturnal ballad a sense of surreal splendour that's breathtaking. True to form, the b-side tracks (also from the album) are just as good; this is the antithesis of everything on radio at the moment, mysterious and utterly beautiful.
