In 2001 the fantasy double bill of Harry Potter and The Lord of The Rings ranked first and second at the box office, and it is happening all over again this year. In the first weekend alone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets cleared $88 million. ... Harry hasn't done badly at the bookstore either, having moved a total of 77 million copies in the U.S. so far, while Tolkiens works sold 11 million in the U.S. in 2001 alone.... | Harry Potter and the Order of Phonix begins as the previous books have: the long , hot summer , the hopelessly unmagicall, mean Dursleys, the longed-for maigical world , the hasty packing , Platform 9 3/4 and of course another year at Hogwarts. But a lot has changed. Death, which was always part of J.K Rowlings books florishes more and more in the Phonix. Voldemort is back and Dumbledore has organized some of the best wizards against him. The Harry Potter we meet in the Phonix is darker. He is showing the mental scars of having been hunted and harried for four straight years , and the rage and feer he feels will impress any reader. "You don't know what it's like! " he shrieks at Ron and Hermione. " You- neither of you-you've never had to face him, have you?" | The three principal cast members of the Harry Potter film franchise are returning for Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban as well as the fourth Potter film, Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire -- and that includes the youngster who plays Harry himself, Daniel Radcliffe. Apparently, rumors have been rampant that Radcliffe was to drop out of the fourth film because his grades have been suffering, but the young actor's mother tells the Internet Movie Database that that's, quote, "all rubbish."-Entertainment news |
