Forest Hills, NY
The project focused on the reconstruction of a one bedroom apartment in Forest Hills, New York. The concept was to convert a small kitchen/dining room/living area to one large, open, yet comfortable zone.
In addition to the granite counter tops, the logistical placement of cabinetry was crucial to the design flow of the entire apartment.
This was done by first eliminating walls that separated and constricted work space in the kitchen. This enabled the customer to be able to work in a less confining space while enjoying the airyness of the entire design.
To finish off the living space, a large molding was chosen to enhance the viewing and overall warmth. Instead of painting, we chose to simply sand and laquer the molding to keep it light and unobtrusive.
