A bit of history on this song and why I love it so...
I first heard this song when I was still in diapers. I have always loved this song and only recently have I been able to feed my everlasting love for this song. I do not know why I love it so, I only know that I do.
A few years ago, when I was excessively obsessed with Mercedes Lackey and Valdemar, I was reading the Kerowyn book and wishing I could be like her, only gay.(Even though I didn't know that last part though. I always thought it was a pity that Kerowyn was straight.) This song came on the radio and it clicked. I admitted to myself that it basically got me wet to think about my self as a warrior. Xena, Kerowyn, hell, even some virginal sprite like Joan of Arc. If it was a chick with a sword in her hand, I was hooked.
Maybe I should explain more clearly.
This took place when I was still in middle school. Now many people will tell you that high school was their hell. This was SO not true for me. Middle School was my hell, but my heaven as well. Bears that whole yin yang theory real nicely.
Sooooo there I am, this young kid, and I'm thinking about this majorly cool warrior woman who makes me want to be better than I am. Patty Smyth comes on the radio with Scandal behind her and I fell in love right there.
Have you not heard this song? It is seriously, the best song in the world. It had the 80's rock groove going, right? But you have this hella sexy voice belting out over the drums pounding and the guitars riffing. And the lyrics?
Would you not want your dream lover walking up to you and telling you "I'll shoot at the wells of your heartache. I am the warrior, and heart to heart, you win, if you survive the warrior." Think about that for a second. Sexy. Veeeeery sexy.
By the way, I KNOW you know the song "Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough" do not even TRY to deny it, I know you have heard that song! It's just so saaaaaaaad! Well, sexy amazing Patty Smyth is the delightful female vocal in that song ^_^
Is it any wonder that Patty Smyth is my new obsession? ^_^
