Session Objectives:
Participants will learn about the various strategies that government officials and health care managers may use to assure quality. This session will focus on accreditation, a voluntary mechanism for external review of health care organizations. Participants will discuss the trend away from standards towards performance measurement as the preferred method for accreditation review.
