Public Transport to Harwell and RAL

Summary of bus services

Harwell is served by buses at least every half hour throughout the day. All call at the bus stops on the A4185 and (except 134/140) the Fermi Avenue bus park

Stagecoach Oxford

32,32A, 32B, 33- for Wantage, Hendreds, Didcot Parkway, Sutton Courtenay, Culham Village, Abingdon and Oxford  (every half hour weekdays, hourly on Saturdays)

34- for Steventon, Drayton, Abingdon and Oxford (1 fast service to Oxford each day in either direction)

Newbury Buses (part of Reading Buses)

Services 6 and 9 run hourly between Didcot and Newbury; with some services continuing to Hungerford.

Thames Travel

134/140 for Didcot, Chilton, Upton, Blewbury, Aston Tirrold (one service in each direction)

Thames Travel also run the 130 service from Didcot to Wallingford, approximately hourly throughout the day and an hourly semi-fast Didcot to Oxford service via Ladygrove and Long Wittenham. Detailed timetables are available from Thames Travel 01491 874216

Rail information

Thames Trains local services run at least every half hour between Oxford, Didcot and Reading. Bicycles are conveyed free of charge on most services, with peak time restrictions.

Great Western fast services between London and the West Country or Wales call at least once per hour at Didcot- approximately half hourly during the day. Bicycles are carried in the guards van at the standard class end of the train, a small fee is payable.
