Adultery is a Social Offense
This is in response to “Tales from the front: Married women and secret lovers” (Tempo, April 4, 2007), by Cheryl Lavin
This column was about three women’s stories of how they carried on adulterous affairs for many years while still married. These women seemed to have no guilt at being unfaithful to their husbands. Their only regret was that they could not ditch their husbands for their men. This column had no right to be printed. Adultery is a selfish heinous offense that should not be uplifted in any way, and certainly should not be printed for millions of people to read. Adultery and divorce are what are tearing our families apart to day. I have seen what affairs have done to families that I know, and I am greatly offended to this same act uplifted in my newspaper. I am disgusted. In our great country, we believe in free press and free speech. But we should use these privileges to make our country an even a better place, and not to encourage wickedness.
