Muslim Women get beach Screens in Italy

The Italian resort city of Riccione voted to allow hotels to screen off sections of beach for Muslim women to shed their headscarves and long robes to enjoy the sun in privacy. Only female waitresses and lifeguards would serve the beaches.

“If we wanted to, we could create a beach section reserved for nudists; it would be the same thing,” said Loretta Villa, Riccione’s councilwoman for urban planning.
