Books:
Injeel: It was a book revealed to Prophet Jesus (A). It has been lost. The present Gospels are written by different men. These contain some original teachings of Jesus (A). Even the originals of these Gospels are lost.
Psalm: It was a book revealed to Prophet David (A). It has been lost. The present Psalms are corrupted translations.
Qur’an: It is a Book revealed to Prophet Muhammad by Allah. It was revealed in Arabic. It has been totally preserved in its original form and letters. Its meaning or explanation in any language is not called Qur’an (Also see Qur’an below).
Torah: It was a book revealed to Prophet Moses (A). It has been lost. The present Old Testament, written and compiled by men, does contain some verses of Torah. Even the original of Old Testament is lost.
Other Books: Other prophets, such as Abraham (A), were also given books. All of them are lost.
Day of Recompense:
One Day the entire universe will be destroyed. Nothing will remain except Allah. All the dead people will be raised again to their original life and form. They all will be gathered in front of Allah for accounting of their past deeds in the destroyed world. No one, not even prophets and messengers, will escape this accounting. Every one will be shown all of his deeds, even the tiniest ones. Every one will be judged. Every one will be compensated for his good or evil deeds in the world. It will be a long hot Day.
Hereafter:
There is life after death. This life will be eternal. In this life, some peoples will be rewarded paradise because of their balance sheets containing piety and obedience to Allah. They will enjoy the bliss of paradise for ever. Some other peoples will be punished to Hell because of their balance sheets containing evils and disobedience to Allah. Rejecters of Oneness of God will for ever be subjected to severe torments of Hell.
Human Race:
The first man was Adam (A). He was made by Allah from clay without a father and a mother. The first woman Eve was also made of same kind as of Adam by Allah without a father and a mother. Allah then spread a large number of men and women from them after their mating. Humankind is made vice-regent of Allah on the earth. Allah has blessed humankind with knowledge and wisdom. Allah has conquered the entire universe for humankind to serve it. Allah has given freedom to mankind to choose and act. Humankind is under test to see if it obeys Allah and establish his laws in this world, or rebels.
Jinn:
Parallel to humankind Allah has created a race of Jinn as well. Jinn are created from fire.
Jinn can hide themselves from humans. They can see humans. Jinn too have two types of peoples- believers and non-believers. Satan, who refused to prostrate to Adam on the command of Allah, was a Jinn. He was ousted from the Court of Allah because of his disobedience. He was given permission by Allah, on his request, to try to mislead humans from their right path.
Koran (Please see Qur’an)
Messengers:
In order to lead mankind to right path of obedience to Allah, he has sent one hundred and twenty-four thousand prophets and messengers in this world- at least one to each nation.
Prominent among them are the following five: Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad. Jesus was born by Mary without a father. They all preached Oneness of God. They all invited humankind to submit to one God. They brought different laws of life according to need of their times. Allah has said that Muhammad (s) is the last of them. No more prophets or messengers will now come. The code of life brought by Muhammad is thus final for all humankind (Please see Muhammad below).
Miracles:
Every messenger was given miracles by Allah to help them invite mankind to right path. All five of them were given several miracles of temporary nature. Muhammad’s miracle is however a living one -the Qur’an.
Muhammad:
Muhammad was born in a noble Quraish tribe in Makkah. His father Abdullah, and mother’s name was Amenah. He did not know how to read or write. He received first revelation from Allah through Gabriel at the age of 40. He died at the age of 63 in Madinah. During these 23 years he persistently preached belief and worship of one God-Allah. Through out his life he invited people to obey Allah; and struggled hard to establish justice in the society as commanded by Allah. He taught and practiced equality of man irrespective of color, gender, race, language, geography or lineage. He had an exemplary character. He was, and will remain; the greatest man ever lived on the earth. He was the last and final Messenger of God. Life of Muhammad is the best model for humankind. He is to be obeyed and followed in every aspect of human life. Those who do not obey or follow him are not Muslims.
Qur’an: It is a Book of Guidance for all mankind. It is a Book of words of Allah in Arabic. All of its words were piece-wise, as the occasion warranted, revealed to Prophet Muhammad (s), who dictated the revealed verses to his scribes to write them down. It was originally written on leafs, leather parchments, bones, etc. during the time of Muhammad. Within two to three years after the death of Prophet Muhammad and during the reign of his first successor (caliph) Abu Bakr, the Qur’an’s chapters were collected, verified by a committee of scholars, and preserved by the caliphate. Later on during the reign of the third caliph Uthman, the very same collection was formally compiled as a book, copied, and distributed to different parts of the vast caliphate. Its present form and letters are exactly the same all over the world as the one compiled and authenticated by a scholars committee formed by Uthman during his reign. It has been totally preserved in its original form and letters. It contains 114 chapters. Its meaning or explanation in any language is not called Qur’an.
Sin:
All humans commit mistakes (i.e. sin). The best among those is the one who repents. Allah forgives sincere repentant of his sin. Allah punishes only those who do not repent. Allah punishes only wrong-doer, he does not punish some blameless person as a ransom of others sins. Adam and Eve both committed sin. Both repented. Allah forgave them both.
