Islamic Ideology Council of Pakistan to censure/hide its own past decisions

The Chairman, Islamic Ideology Council of Pakistan, in a letter to the Editor, Monthly Tarjuman-ul-Qur’an Lahore, writes:

“The Professor Sahib has raised this point, too, that the actual draft of the Hasbah Bill and the Hudood Ordinance were prepared by the Islamic Ideology Council. Perhaps his objection is, “Why the council is not supporting its own prepared draft?” or “Why is it arguing for a review on it?” I assure the Professor Sahib that, during the deliberation of every issue, the Council keeps in view its past recommendations and decisions; moreover, ¹the sitting Council has decided that the copy or publication or issuance/ declaration of even the past decisions of the Council will be made only after the Council’s attestation/approval.”

پروفیسر صاحب نے یہ نکتہ بھی اٹھایا ہے کہ حسبہ بل اور حدود آرڈیننس کے اصل مسودات اسلامی نظریاتی کونسل ہی نے تیار کیے تھے ، انھیں غالبا" اس بات پر اعتراض ہے کہ کونسل اپنے ہی تیار کردہ مسوادات کی تائید کیوں نہیں کررہی ہے یا ان پر نظر ثانی کی بات کیوں کرتی ہے ۔ میں پروفیسر صاحب کو یقین دلاتا ہوں کہ کونسل زیر غور ہر مسئلے پر کونسل کے ماضی کے فیصلوں اور سفارشات کو مد نظر رکھتی ہے بلکہ ¹موجودہ کونسل نے یہ طریقہ کار طے کیا ہے کہ کونسل کے ماضی کے فیصلوں کو بھی موجودہ کونسل کی توثیق کے بعد ہی نقل ، شائع یا جاری کیا جاۓ گا ۔
