Un-American Acts
We recently heard in the news about five Muslim men being detained at a pro football game for congregating together and praying. These men were taken into custody by security guards and questioned. They were not allowed to return to return to their seats and were followed to their cars when they left the game. All of these acts were completely unnecessary. As Americans we are appalled.
If these had been five Caucasian men, they would not have been subjected to the same treatment. This group was profiled simply because its members have brown skin and long beards.
We understood that as a nation we wish to combat terrorism and currently are fighting insurgent overseas. However, by taking away the freedom of people in our nation we are not going to help this cause. Most Muslims being in this nation are law-abiding, decent human beings. Contrary to what many Americans believe, most Muslims are no more dangerous than those of other cultures. These people are very bit as American as we are.
We must stop punishing everyone for the sins of a few.
