Wrath not Mercy

I guess I misunderstood some things about fundamentalist Christians. I thought they were supposed to be living by the Ten Commandments and preaching God’s mercy, not wrath.

Pat Robertson seems to be presenting himself as God’s right-hand man when he recently called for the assassination of President Hugo Chavez; May be I misunderstood the Fifth Commandment, but I thought it said something like, “Thou shalt not kill.”

Now this would-be messiah predicts disaster for Dover, Pa., for not seeing things his way. I guess that I am interpreting the Bible all wrong, or perhaps I did not read the Rev. Robertson’s version. It was apparently written to adopt to Par Robertson’s latest whim or financial objective.

Is preaching murder and destruction this all-knowing fundamentalist Christian’s way to bring peace to mankind?
