Homily Points
Holy Trinity Sunday
General.
Today’s solemnity is a feast of blessings to God the Father, to His Only Son Jesus Christ and to the Holy Spirit. Nothing is expected of us other than belief in this mystery and our adoration to our one Godhead in all His power and greatness.Exodus.
The great power of God on Mount Sinai filled Moses with awe at the sight of the Divine, Who was already being seen as a God of mercy, rich in all goodness. The concept of Father had not yet developed yet a prayer was made to Him by Moses that He might visit His people and forgive their ill-doings and faults and take them as His inheritance.Second Epistle to the Corinthians.
St Paul expresses his theology of the Godhead in these verses. The Father is God of love and peace Who awards this same peace to all those who have common understanding and are perfect and obedient. The grace, love and union of the Godhead will then be with us all.St John.
The union between the Father and Jesus is expounded in these verses. Jesus says about himself that he was sent by the Father not to bring about judgement but salvation unto life everlasting. The Holy Name of Jesus is in itself a well-founded source from where to obtain divine grace and salvation.
