WINFLEX 2000
Dr. Abo-Hashema is responsible for designing a Mechanistic-Empirical Overlay Design System for Flexible Pavements (WINFLEX) for the State of Idaho through a research project conducted at the University of Idaho in conjunction with Idaho Transportation Department, ITD. The WINFLEX 2000 software package was released on May 2001. WINFLEX 2000 is a Mechanistic-Empirical Overlay Design System for Asphalt Pavements. This version runs on Windows 95, 98, 2000, and NT.
Dr. Abo-Hashema is responsible for designing the upcoming version, WINFLEX 2002, which will be released on July 2002. This result is particularly important in the light of the current efforts by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, AASHTO, to produce a mechanistic-empirical design procedure for implementation in 2002.
