Beautiful Morning
|
That
was a beautiful morning on April 24, 2003. The Hong Kong International Airport,
used to be one of the busiest airports in the world, had suddenly become
a dreadfully quiet place with very very very few people there. Take note
that most of them were personnel, stewards or stewardesses, pilots, and
janitors. Passengers? Less than ten! This is no joke, people! I could hardly
believe what I saw.
It was just like a nightmare. The very first question that I asked myself was 'What happened? How come... Is what I am seeing real?' Then I got on an airport bus heading Causeway Bay. Not alone
the fact that the bus only contained 4 passengers and a driver shocked
me. On the way to my home, I saw something even more shocking. Central,
the center point of Hong Kong was EMPTY! Hello~ That was Thursday morning!
People were supposed to be in a hurry to go to work and stuff like that.
I saw NOBODY was on the streets! North Point appeared to be better, there
were few people walking on the streets. In Causeway Bay, many shops were
closed and again only a few people hanging on the streets. I can never
forget everything I saw on that beautiful April-twentieth morning. |
