Below is a little piece of writing Kendrick composed on my 23rd birthday. It wasn't something romantic or sugar-sweet that I expected, but it truely tells the development of our story =) Both of us don't really know where we're going, and we can't expect too much. We don't want it to end, want to see other chapters, and hope it goes all the way to Chapter Infinity. Well~ Can't do much about it~ To play by ear, that's all we can do.

Hmmmm… Hannah. Where do I begin to describe this beautiful person? It all started on October 24, 2004, at a seemingly typical, boring function. Haha, actually it was the pre-cocktails for an international beauty pageant and I was, ahem, just doing my job and giving moral support to my client’s event. When I saw this group of people that caught my eye, one of them was this petite lady with striking big anime eyes and a pretty smile.

After a few sips of courage, went up to her, asked a silly question as an opening line and eventually introduced myself. The awkwardness gave way until finally I got what I was hoping for, her phone number. Oh well, past experience had taught me never to expect too much from it. Called her right up after a few days and set a time to meet. Lo and behold, I was right, she was just friendly but way toooooo busy to spend more time with me. There ended 1 st chapter.

Fast forward to Sept. 10, 2005. I was about to take a bath when I got this mysterious text message from a certain Hannah Chan. I responded “Hannah who?” “how did we know each other again?” hmmmph, she responded by saying “never mind”, “just wanted to say I’m leaving already for HK.” Then, after pondering on the name, I remembered… “Oh, hi! It’s you..” Everything went pretty fast after that. Priceless moments in Tagaytay and San Juan. Chapter 2 was pretty much a blur but with a lot of memorable highlights.

Chapter 3 started on a more deliberate note. With her return from HK to attend her graduation, we just spent more time together. Then, did things start to become more interesting. Our adventures took us to Singapore and Malaysia. Went backpacking and just had a great time together. I have never met a person who’s just so easy to get along with. Always happy and always crazy and just so free spirited. A person mature for her age, she can talk to me pretty much about any topic you can bring up. From Naruto to politics and religion, to music and movies, and of course, her favorite topic, food and eating. : ) Haha…who’d ever imagine that I’d get along so well with a La Sallite. : ) A child and a lady. Innocent yet mature. Naughty and nice? Haha Hannah represents different facets that make her a paradox and a mystery to be cherished and to be understood. Happy birthday Hannah! Can’t wait for our next adventure and for our next chapter to unfold. Remember that you are loved.
