In this project I used standard 3/4" MDF with the works. The custom box tucks up nicely in the trunk. A 12" MTX 6000 woofer is mounted in the box. This bad boy produces 250rms and 500 peak power.

After installing the amp kit and mounting the MTX amplifier we ran into a small problem, the alternator couldn't produce enough juice. This is a common problem found in 80's cars. This however set us back a little bit since we had to order a custom high output alternator.

This is a little picture of me working on the amp rack. And then the final product. Note how the box fits up into the trunk.
