LAMBO DOORS ON THE FOXY LADY

Okay, okay, I know you stangers have been waiting for a while for someone to atleast attempt to do this on a fox. Here I am gonna attempt to explain everything about the project I can before anyone bites the $1900 to do it too. These are the latest pictures as of 8-5-03.

PROS: Well, personally to me it looks pretty wicked, the Autoloc kit comes complete with everything you need to do the job (except a welder), the job really doesnt take all that long to do, once the fender, inside of door, and hinges come off it took only about 3 hours to do one side.
CONS: The kit is universal, so the whole job is custom, no bolts will line up, that is why I welded it. I had to remove the CRUISE CONTROL because it is located where the bracket goes. Okay so I figured out why the door wasnt going down easily, the door was rubbing the bottom of the frame, so I rounded out the corner of the door with a dremel tool and that solved that. I CANT GET THE DOOR TO CLOSE WITH THE FENDER ON!!! The corner of the door near the top hits the fender when you try to open it. What a PITA! I have been fooling with it for the last 3 weeks, and have not been able to come up with any solutions as of yet.

Additional notes: I was really excited to try the AUTOLOC LAMBO DOOR KIT out. I got it for a good deal, and I thought that it would look great on a fox. I believe it could work if the fenders where rolled and the doors tucked. But that is a gamble to try. If I had a machinist to make me some new hinges I am sure I could get it to work. I do have some ideas, but money isn't all that great right now. Well that's it for now. -J
