The car above is my 91 Mustang Hatchback LX and the guinea pig that I installed the Zex Nitrous kit on. I wanted to make this page so you could see some of the places where I mounted stuff, and some of the lines I ran, etc. Some addition things I installed that were not in the kit was a Nitrous Gauge by Autometer on the A-Pillar, Nitrous Panel by Painless Performance, and a Zex Purge Kit. The ZEX kit for the Mustang 5.0 is a dry shot setup that uses a spray nozzle to deliver the nitrous that's tapped into the air intake.

To start out I layed everything out so I could figure out where I was going to install everything. I first started with locating a good mounting spot for the Nitrous Management Unit. The line that they supply for the nozzle that goes to the intake is short, so I had to rotate the NMU upside down to have enough length. The picture on the left if you click on it shows the locations that I choose to install the NMU, the t-split that I ran for the gauge, t-split for the purge kit, and the line that was ran through the firewall to the purge kit. The other picture on the left shows the location of the purge kit. There is one thing I forgot to point out and that is the rubber house you connect from the NMU to the Fuel Pressure Regulator. You simply run the line to the FPR from the NMU, and another line from the NMU to the where the previous line connecting the FPR was.

Moving to the inside... Here I show the arming switch I located below the cd player. I found that this is so far working for me in this location. The next picture below is where I mounted the Nitrous Gauge and also a Air/Fuel Ratio Gauge. I found that the Air/Fuel when I arm the nitrous and go for a run that the fuel ups and stays in the green. I find additional comfort in seeing this, but I keep hearing that they are inaccurate? The picture at the bottom left is the location I mounted the bottle. I drilled holes and then mounted the brackets. The line I ran for the bottle goes through a hole that is below my sub box that I made, from there it runs along the frame rail to the NMU. There is more than enough line to go from the bottle to the NMU. The picture on the right is the Nitrous Panel by Painless Performance, I would highly recomend it if you have the cash. The ease of wiring, fit, and look is top notch.
Okay, the final thought on my system was it was fairly simple to install, and the numbers speak for itself. I had my car dyno tuned and gained 70rwhp with the 75 shot. This netted me a total of 320rwhp.
