From the 22nd, everyday
we were taking pictures for "R&R Newsmaker".
It became such a big
project..each day each member, and one day
with all of us, a total
of 5 days. For myself, i went to a SM Hotel.
We took pictures in some
place that looked like a jail. It was more
realistic then i thought
when we went there. There were poles ( i think that's
what he meant by OMARU?),
and it was really dirty...there seem to be SPERM (IYAAAA)
around them (the poles),
it was kinda disugsting....Iyadeshitane...
Although I got some match
from that place, I kept it in the table all the time.
Although my parents only
came visiting once, but what if they come again
and see the match ( from
the SM Hotel )......although I really don't know,
but...better not make

We went to New York for
mastering and picture taking. SO COLD!
And since it was so cold
i bought a muffler on the way. I hate to bring
a lot of luggage with
me...its just my personality. And anyway, my stylists
will come so i went with
some thin clothing. But since it was too cold
and i didn't bring enough
clothing, i just bought some over there.
There was a 3 day free
time thing, and i went to shop for furniture.
I saw this really cute
water tank, and i went with a staff from the company (kioon?)
so i asked what the price
of it is, and he/she said should be about 500,000 yen (5000 US Dollars
-_-!)
We then went to the coffee
store to think a bit and i thought, if its 500,000 yen, then i'll
buy about 2 of them
(holy...1,000,000 yen
for 2 water tanks!?) So afterwards we went back to the store,
and the price was actually
2,000,000 (20,000 US) yen for ONE! So i don't want to buy it anymore...
so at the end didn't
buy anything.. Oh actually, I thought about this other one. It's
a figure of Christ from a church
400 years ago.
It's carved from wood...and its 1,000,000 yen. Looks really nice.
Although i really thought about getting it,
the meaning was quite
important to me. At the end i didn't buy anything (hmm why didn't
u buy it if u think
its very important to
you haido? )

different names for it, but i still couldn't stick with one name.
At first i called it
" Guru "...etc...I think Guru sounds like a dog name, isn't it cute?
But..when I call it it
didn't sound great..and i didn't like it..Then later i called it "saccho
san"
(ehm, boss!? ) coz i
thought isn't this "great" (as in status) name good? Later i called it
some other
names such as "Otousan
" ( Dad.. ) Anyway, at the end i didn't stick with 1 name. This day,
i went to get a book
about AIBO, at some point i'd need help to train the dog i guess, so i
bought
a book. Anyway,
the its sleeping now. Hmm it must be very full, well, the robot.

First it's the rehersal
for live, then its kohaku. Hmm had a long wait at kohaku ne!
after we finished performing
we left right away..by helicopter! it was so cool!

although it's got a lot of traffic down there,
we can get there within
10 min by helicopter, sugoi ne.. From long time ago,
I already went to have
a countdown live. I'm so glad finally we can do it, and many
guests (well fans ) came
to see us ne.

Went to Hawaii for filming
of PV. We went to Hawaii island.
Its my first time here
at hawaii island. The weather was very bad and cold.
Almost like Tokyo.
If Hawaii's not hot till you wanna die then its no fun ne.
The last day we were
filming in the pool in front of the hotel. It was SUPER COLD..
The pool was as cold
as Tokyo's December, I thought i was gonna die in there.
Tetchan caught a cold
since he came to Hawaii, so he was in bad mood, and of course
doing this ( the pool
thing ) he gets more sick. He looked he wants to cry during the
filming. That night we
played sushi and roulette. At first we'll add wasabi in sushi,
kenchan will pass (the
sushi?) to the manager team and whoever hit and win will eat (!??!
i dunno..is it how u
play the game? ) anyway, at the end we started adding fish's eye (well
of
cooked fish ) to the
sushi.

In our regular radio
show, we'll have quizes and if we get the right answer,
we can have the ruit
to play as many songs we like. 1/2 year ago, we played that quiz
too, but we have to say
" achoo~" when we answer, and the one who forget to say it will

coz we all fear losing if we forget the Achoo~, people start sticking
labels around. So this time, I must not forget to say it or else

A- absorption ( things
that he gets very focused when he's doing it that he forgets
about everything as if
he's dreaming)
Right now its "rajicon"
( remote control car ) these days i'm very busy with work,
so i don't have holidays
and i go home late nite everyday. But when i get home
i'll use that little
time to make rajicon. Because i like it so much sometimes
i will get so into making
it that i forget about time. So i have to tell myself
and set a time that i'll
work until. But it's really like i forget about time
passing by. And
meanwhile i always turn on the MTV channel at home and leave it on
as background music,
unless if some really cool song is on then i'll look up to
watch the MTV or else
it will just remain as background music.
B - breathing space
un...in my car..or on
the red sofa at home. the sofa's a 3 person seat one
so i can just lie across
it and sleep there. When i write songs i'll sleep there,
holding my guitar..I
think i have a very pleasant sleeping face..of course this
is only my own assumption
( laughs ) ( haha of course tetsu wouldn't know if he looks
good when he's sleeping
eh..well i guess *someone* would know..^^;;)
When i wake up i'm still
in the same position as i slept in, so its ok to sleep
in the sofa.
C- Collection
toy desu ne. usually
go to toy stores in shimokitazawa and shibuya etc. but these
days i hadn't been going
at all. I buy all the new products, but i collect
evangelion and japanese
toys. I got a lot of these wooden japanese toys ne.
and also Majingaa Z,
Gorenjyaa etc , also Kamen rider..the old japanese animation
collectables ne.
D- dear
umm, something that's
dear to me..that's gotta be the band members and staff and
friends etc. Basically
I love a lot of people. But i don't have a person i LOVE,
because that's a person
that i want to date ( Um i guess this time maybe he's not
going out with anyone!?)

~ March it was replayed on TV. I was so addicted ne.
and at that time i was
so depressed, it was evangelion that supported me..
but then i have never
met eva ( eh..of course u can't..tetchan.) and i just
got more depressed i

Fans are something that

don't have one until i die. I am born with this body

h: 99.. the most memorable
thing was the tour in summer. To be able
to have such a great
live outdoors, I can even die satisfied ^^

h: Yeap. I never tried
performing outdoors before, It was my dream for many years.

compare to outdoors, because indoors there will be echoes.
There are no echoes outdoors,
the difference is quite big! And there are no walls
around the audience,
there seem to be nothing blocking us. The atmosphere is very good
and it's much easier
for me to sing with feelings.

to think too ^^ but after i've tried outdoors, i realized

from sadako's lover..the people around them..etc. I'll think,

h: very difficult.
it's got a very high key, it's got a very sharp melody,
that's why it's very
difficult to sing.
-since it's so difficult,
before recording did you practice?
h: no..because i only
finished the lyrics one day before recording. don't have time
to practice at all i

-then in the real recording,
did you have to have many takes?
h: i'm used to it already.
but if i'm too used to it, my voice will sound very bad
like it's dead, not lively

h: it's a word that sorta

" is yukkie's song. and trick is remixed by him too. it's quite

h: I feel so hazukashii
ne, because at the real recording, the bass was all done
by singing. most
of it is done without any other background music. it feels so shy,
just like running naked
on the street (laughs)

is the start of 2000, and there was count down live. so what
kind of live do you want
now?
h: elegant (!?)

11.26. Thu/
Today we're going to
Europe to take photos for the photobook.
Although we already set
up the meeting time and location, a
pesron was still late.
Because we're afraid
that we won't make it to
the airport, everyone
got on the bus first to wait for the last guy,
so when the last guy
comes then the bus can leave at once. Finally,
the last guy came, but
then this guy forgot his PASSPORT!!!!
Then immediately the
manager had to go to his house to get it for him........
By the way this person
recently dyed his hair blonde ( ARN'T YOU TALKING
ABOUT YOURSELF HAIDO!?!!!!)
Then that day, we arrived
at Switzerland.
It wasn't as cold as
i have imagined, and there was no snow either.
It's already night time,
so we took the bus and arrived at a street called
Interlaken. After getting
off the bus i looked up the sky, there's a shadow,
covered halfway by the
clouds, it looks like the shadow of a mountain.
It's dark and i feel
that the mountain is super high.
Then i went to my room,
and i was so surprised,
because they have NHK
drama on TV..haha
We had dinner in a super
high class restaurant in the hotel,
but the food was -_-"

11.27 Fri/
Went up the mountains
for photo shooting. We went halfway by car and then we had
to go up by the sled,
because the road narrows and become real dangerous,
i'm sure people've died
there before. Then we took pictures in the snow, and
ended our photo session
for the day. It's near dusk and we're walking down the streets,
looking for a toy store
in this town that's got nothing. It's like Disneyland..closed..
That night we ate Swiss
food, we went to this family restaurant and ate cheeze fondue.
After finish eating,
when we're ready to leave, we realized that about 3 or 4 Staff's coat
that's put at the entrance
were stolen...at this cold weather....-_-"
but the members were
ok, but then the staff had a really bad day...
Afterwards, i went to
a Casino near the hotel that looked like a game center.
I was completely indulged
in the roulette and poker. When i travel overseas,
I will bring money just
to gamble, use all of them in gambling if there's a casino, so
winning or losing is
ok, at first i lose ne.

Took pictures in town.
We went to a place called Luzern.First i took pictures
with the white birds
( refer to LIFE...haha where hyde wears that white furry jacket
and white leather pants..and
white shoes...-_-", and so cute, haido called
the birds " white birds-san"

Then there's this little
stand that sells chesnuts ( actaully hyde calls it "tenshin chesnuts
swizterland version VÃÃIXCXÅ",
So funny ^^ P.S. remember the pics of ken and
tetsu eating those?)
so i bought some, but it doesn't taste good,
it taste like yam more..the
ones in japan taste better ne. Then from the town,
we walked up the mountains
to take pictures. The pictures of us in LIFE, on the sleigh ^^
We played for quite a
long time. But we only went from the top to the bottom once ( uh..
haido, so it took u THAT
long to go from bottom to top? hahah )
Then we went near a lake
and took more pictures, the pictures of the last page
of the Photobook.
It was realllly cold!! When we're heading back from the lake,
we saw a " Sex Shop ",
and we went there with our coordinator and everyone were laughing.
Then went back to casino,
and went to sleep.

Snowboarding. We
went in the early morning. We have a coach, and in the beginning
i looked like a tombstone
( really still ^^; )and i was sniffing like taking drugs.
And since we looked so
baka it's a really funny sight. So the coach taught us for 3 hours..
And towards the end i
gradually sorta get the idea of how to snowboard.
Anyways, it was really
fun. Afterwards went back to casino to gamble again ( haido~~
how come u gamble so
much -_-" ) and i used all my money... at first i didn't
understand the rule of
that thing and i only understand at the second half of the game,
but i already lose all
my money....my swiss dream destroyed... (haha)
And the next day, we're
going to Germany, and maybe i'll fulfill my German Dream there ne.....

From Switzerland we went
to Frankfurt in Germany.
During noon we bought
a lot of omiyage(souveniers), and at night we went to a restaurant
and we drank wine..it
was really good and a little drunk ^^ then i went to Casino ( AGAIN!?)
I heard that in casinos
in Germany, we have to wear formal or you can't go in,
so for this purpose i
wore my suit ( KAKKOIIII!!!! can TOTALLY imagine haido wearing
suit in a casino!!! >___<!!!!!
) When i enter also had to check my passport and many
other checks ( ooh~~
I wanna see haido's passport!! ^^;)
And then i went inside,
there aren't games ne.. only Poker, Black Jack, Roulette..
There are lots of people
who look like they're super rich, and throwing these stacks of
100,000 yen coins in
and stuff...i think i shouldn't play at there ne? It feels
quite scary, the difference
between people from other race. It was boring, so i left by
myself first and went
to this casino beside where you can wear casual clothes, and it is
like a game center, but
again i don't know the rules of Germany so I don't know how to play...
but it's the last day,
so i really want to spend all of the money ..but i really don't
understand so i couldn't
T_T. Then there's a jockey game, and i played but then
i lose again and i got
pissed. How come i'm getting such bad luck,
so i thought ....hmm..maybe
it's because the machine sucks, maybe because the machine
is busted .... anyways,
completely ruined my mood, so i just left. So ..Germany was a defeat
too.
I guess i'm more suitable
for US... next time i think i should go to Las Vegas.

called LORELEY in Germany..u

At the basment of Burg
Katz, it's kinda scary, feels like the room for trialing criminals..
there were evidence of
locks to tie up hands and stuff, scary ne. Then we returned
to Frankfurt again and
then left for Japan. These days i'm used to travelling, so i
don't feel uncomfortable
in the plane anymore. I watched " the cat in the boots" on the plane,
and i told ken its really
interesting so he watched it too.

12.7 Mon/ CM recording.
Our boss Fujiwara have made many Laruku CMs ( Hmm? I think
it's that..guy who's
ALWAYS in the Laruku CMs..u know who i'm talking about right? ^^)
This CM is the last one
of this year, so we're gonna be in it too. (I think haido is refering
to the Light My Fire
video CM, with the explosion and THANX 1998 ) At the evening we went to
the
filming studio, and we
changed into costumes of police detectives, then we started filming.
It only took us about
3 minutes to film!!!! Ah~~ so great! I think it's the quickest filming
i've ever done.
12.9 Wed/ Photo shooting for New Year's Card.
12.10 Thu/ went to the
show FUN. Interviewed with the 3 hosts,
and performed a medley
of about 5 songs.
(haido looked SUPER KAKKOII
+ KAWAII in this show!)
Fujiwara Norika san(host)
danced along the performance.
12.11 Fri ~ 13 Sun/ Composing songs. but didn't do accomplish much. (^^;;)
12.14 Mon/ Recording of
Pop Jam. We performed winter fall and snow drop.
Meanwhile i watched the
video, and i haven't sang so well for a while.
I always feel scared
and uneasy during performance, but this time it was fine.
Snow drop was a little
more difficult...
12.15 Tue ~ 17 Thu/ "giving out songs" (like, the due date and each member would bring what they have written so far etc) at the studio, practicing, etc.
12.18 Fri ~ 20 Sun/ writing songs again.
12.21 Mon. "HEY!
HEY! HEY! special" at an island called Daiba ( actaully Daiba is where
Tokyo Big Sight is ne)
It's winter and the wind
from the seashore is suppper cold, and i had to perform snow drop. ( hhaha
haido really looked
painful during the performance,
although he had huge furry jacket,
Yukkie also had this
huge white furry jacket like a polar bear ne)
I watched the video afterwards
and i looked so ghastly! I was shivering and my teeth were like " kakakak
" while i was singing..just
sooo cold.
12.22 Tue ~ 12.23 Wed/ Looking at the songs Part 2. We had a few songs.
12.24 Thu/ "Music station
special" reherasal at NHK Hall. Sigh,
it's christmas eve and
i'm at that kind of place. Disneyland is next door
and there were lots of
people, it took us a few hours of traffic
to get back because of
this.
12.25 Fri/ "Music Station
Special". MAX was sitting behind us, and
we forgot that they were
there, and ken chan was singing their song " Ride on time~~"
and suddenly we saw that
they're actually behind us! so he was like "aa..ii kyouku desu ne" ( ah,
it's a good song ne)
it was quite embarrasing!
These days, we had a lot of shows with Morning Musume too,
and i couldn't get their
song out of my mind, i just keep hearing " waratte~" inside me
12.26 Sat/ Our company's
new years party. Usually the next day there will be no work,
but we still have work...
I won a snowboard in playing Bingo ^^
These days i didn't have
luck with Bingo at all, so this time i finally won so i feel really happy
^^
12.27 Sun ~ 28 Mon/ Writing songs again, actually most of the songs for recording are done already.
12.29 Tue/ Kohaku rehersal.
It is very important ne, starting the rehersal 3 days before. This
day we
tried the sounds and
also interview with Nakai san, and talk about what questions we're gonna
be asked,
and what we have to do..and
our strategies etc.
12.30 Wed/ Kohaku rehersal,
last one before the real thing. Just making sure everything, like
who's coming ..fixin
this and that etc. Just about that, but..hmm...really wanna see it
na..
12.31 Thu/ "Record Awards"
-> "Kohaku" -> " Countdown Live". During Record Awards,
something went wrong
with the mic. The hand-held camera was zooming ken-chan's guitar
solo,
then the camera hit my
mic and the lower part detached and after that there's no sound!
And i don't know if they
can still hear me in the TV or they can't hear me at all...
Anyways, after that we
went to Kohaku. Since i was young i've seen Kohaku on TV, and so
many people
that watches it right?
and lots of old famous singers(he listed a few..haha sorry i don't know
them..)
After Kohaku, we have
to go to Countdown Live by 12, and the bus is outside waiting for us already
so we could leave right
away. Our manager asked to open the roads and we speeded to the place,
but since it's new years
eve, lots of gangsters (those on motorbikes in groups ..called bousouzoku
\°)
and they were in front
of the bus blocking us! (-_-*!!! cannot forgive!! how can they do that!)
and so it was impossible
to get to the countdown live on time, so we crossed the new year in the
bus around aoyama
area and we drank in the bus like new years party... then later we arrived
at Countdown live.
1.1 Fri ~ 7 Thu/ We all went to Hawaii together.
1.8 Fri ~ 2.28 Sun/ continue
to look at the songs, basically can start recording.
Compared to before we
had ample time for recording.
Before, when i write
lyrics..sometimes i cry as i write (as in the lyrics are all due and he
can't think
he's so desperately that
he's almost gonna cry ^^;) This time i don't feel so stressed,
so i can aim for better
quality.
3.1 Mon/ Golden Award.
We got the music award and the grand prix award. Although
I got award, i feel kinda
bad. Although i worked hard, although it's good to get an award,
but seems like the others
are working very very hard too right? i feel this way
everytime i get an award.
that's why i don't give a lot of comments when i receive
awards... but anyhow
the award not only goes to us, it's also for all our fans and our staff
i think. Thank
you very much.

like another japanese

This year we almost haven't
showed up at all, because we've been working on the songs,
because we have to make
good songs we have to lock ourselves up, please wait for
our next release ^_^

t: Basically, we only
want to make good music. Although there
were many interesting
promotions and many changes, we still want people
to think " no matter
what laruku do their songs are still good"
If we do weird things
but the songs are not good, there's no point ne.
I: That's why Laruku's
so attactive~!
t: Of course first we
want the songs to be good, then it's the flirting ^^;

I: I see, what music
do you like?
t: When i'm in bath,
i listen to Six pence none the richer.
In the car, i listen
to Sugar Ray. And in the other car, i listen to
garbage. Because
it's too troublesome to change CDs, that's why I had the
same CD in the player
(laughs) When I'm at home, i watch vibe ne.

that you need to pay to watch*
I: These days what do
you think is popular personally?
t: I play Seaman, but
it's really boring, because I've already played
for 3 weeks but it still
doesn't talk! Because it's troublesome, i just
gave it all of the bait
at once, probably because i can't do that ne..
(hahahaha) And then AIBO,
it's SOOOO CUTTTE!
I: What other interesting
things did you do?
t: I was looking for
places that have good food. I called it " kuidaore tour"
(means something like:
eat the hell out tour..eat till you're bankrupt..eat till you die..
eat till you can't eat
^^;) After work we'd say " lets go kuidaore~" and we'll set out
to find new stores.
I: what's your fashion
point?
Usually slim pants and
a coat. And chic colors. Heavey metal
fashion is going to be
popular in 2000 ne
I: So, how was year 2000
to Laruku?
In 98 it was like attack
attack then stop stop..
and 99 is the finale
so we used that as our theme..
and we couldn't stop
working because there's way too much work
so we want to finish
it all at once. I predict year 2000 will be a good ne.
