Clarence Square, Toronto

Opposite St. John’s Park in downtown Toronto, some residents claim to hear the disembodied sounds of a pair of horses clopping down the street after the sun goes down. When they’ve attempted to view the source either by stepping out on to their porch or peering out their windows, there’s nothing to be found.

According to one researcher, records of two horses stated that they were buried in this area around 1814 after being intentionally shot by their master Colonel Battersby who was reluctant to bring them back to England. Do residents still hear them to this day?
