Dear All

Well I only got one request but as its on my hard drive ready to go - heres
the late war organisation for Army AT units.

Word of warning the Jagdpanther organisations should be treated cautiously
I'm not 100% on the SPGs that wern't Jagdpanthers in those formations.
Perhaps someone can help me out?

 Cheers

 Bob Mackenzie

 Panzer Jäger Abteilung 1944-1945

 BHQ
         1 Command Stand
         1 Kfz-1
         1 Staff Radio Kfz-17 Van
         1 PzJgr
 3 Companies
         1 Pz.Jgr Command
         1-2 Pz.Jgr
         1 SdKfz-2 Maulitier Ammo Half Track (2t)

 Notes

 1) By the start of 1944 Panzer Jäger Abteilung had 3 companies of Marder
 III (75mm). 721 fought with Heeresgruppe A; 731 with Heeresgruppe Sued;
 741, 742, and 744 with Heeresgruppe Mitte and 751, 752 and 753 with
Heeresgruppe Nord. 731 and 744 are confirmed as having Marder III (75mm).
Some time in early 1944 731 was withdrawn from combat to be re-equipped
with Hetzers. 741 followed later in the year. 744 was converted to Hetzers
 in early 1945.

 2) In July 1944 Panzer Jäger Abteilung 731 was formed with a full
complement of 10 Hetzers and sent to Heeresgruppe Nord. 743 followed
shortly after also with 10 Hetzers, it was sent to Heeresgruppe Mitte. 741
formed with 10 Hetzers in September 1944, I Kompanie/741 was sent East,
HQ,II&III Kompanie/741 were sent to the Western Front and participated in
the Ardennes offensive. They had a total of 4 Hetzer. 561 was formed in
February 1945 with 2 companies each of 2 Hetzers and 744 was formed in
March 1945 with 3 companies of 2 Hetzer and no Hetzers at HQ. 3 was formed
in April 1945 with 2 companies of 2 Hetzer and none at HQ. All these units
except for parts of 741 and all of 3 served on the Eastern Front.

 3) Several independent companies were formed with 2 or 3 Hetzers:
Pz.Jgr.Kp. Bock, Lang and Pankow each had 3 Hetzers and took part in the
Nordwind offensive at the end of 1944 attached to LXXXX Armee Korps.
Pz.Jgr.Kp.z.B.V Pz.AOK1.Ost: 3 Hetzers formed in January 1945 set to the
Eastern Front, II & III/510: 3 Hetzers each January 1945, sent to the east
 and Jgd.Pz.Kp 1235, 1245 & 1257 with 2 Hetzers each April 1945. The last
three units were formed in the west.

 4) Hetzer battalions were supposed to have a Wirblewind at HQ, it is
doubtful if many units received it.

Schwerer Panzer Jäger Abteilung (Tiger) 1943

         1 Kfz-17 Staff Radio Truck
         1 PaK-40
         1 Crew Stand

         2 Pz.Jgr Tiger(P) Elefant
         1 SdKfz-3 Maulitier Ammo Half Track (2t)

 Notes

 1) There were 2 Battalions formed in time for the Kursk offensive in July:
653 and 654. These two battalions were combined in Pz.Jgr.Regt 656. Some
sources give the battalions as I & II/656 Pz.Jgr.Regt. They fought with
Heeresgruppe Mitte on the northern flank of the attack. These battalions
fought until late '43 when they were withdrawn for overhaul.

 2) It is possible the 75mm gun was never issued to the BHQ.

 3) At Kursk the 313 and 314 Funklenk Companies were attached to the 653 and
 654 battalions.

         2 Pz.Jgr Tiger(P) Elefant
         1 SdKfz-3 Maulitier Ammo Half Track (2t)

 Notes

 1) At the start of 1944 the Elefants were refitted and hull MGs were
fitted. The 653 battalion returned to the Italian Front in 1944, however
there were not enough Elefants to rebuild the 654. Towards the end of 1944
there were only a company's worth of Elefants left the 654 was renamed 614
Schwerer Panzer Jäger Kompanie. There were no Elephants left by the end of
1944 though there are rumours of a platoon (1 CD Model) fielded during the
 Ardennes offensive.

 Panzer Jäger Abteilung (Nashorn) 1943-1945

 BHQ
         1 Command Stand
         1 Kfz-1
         1 Kfz-17 Staff Radio Truck
         0-1 Nashorn
         0-1 Engineer Stand
         0-1 Medium Truck
         0-1 SdKfz-7/1 Quad 20mm FlaK
         0-1 Medium Ammo Truck
 3 Companies
         1 Nashorn Command
         2 Nashorn
         1 SdKfz-1 Maulitier Ammo Half Track (2t)

 Notes

 1) 525 and 560 battalions were formed in April 1943 with engineers and FlaK
at HQ. 655 battalion was formed at the same time but did not have the FlaK
and engineers at BHQ. None of these battalions had the Nashorn at BHQ. 560
fought at Kursk as part of XXXXII Armee Korps.

 2) 88, 93, 519 battalions were formed in late January 1944. They had fully
equipped BHQ units. 525 and 560 battalions were upgraded to the same
standard in early 1944. It appears that 655 battalion did not survive until
 1944.

 3) 93 was deployed as part of Operation Nordwind in early 1945.

Schwerer Panzer Jäger Abteilung (Jagdpanther) 1944-1945

 BHQ
         1 JgdPz Command
         1 Kfz-17 Staff Radio Truck
         1 Engineer Stand
         1 SdKfz-251/7
         1 SdKfz-7/1 Quad 20mm AA
         1 Medium Ammo Truck
 3 Companies
         1 JgdPz Command
         2 JgdPz
         1 SdKfz-3 Maulitier Ammo Half Track (2t)

 Notes

 1) All the Jagdpanzer were supposed to be Jagdpanther but there were never
enough to go around so most units had to make do with a single company of
Jagdpanther and two companies of StuG or PzJgr IV/70. Many units did not
have enough Jagdpanzer for the HQ, in such cases a Command Stand and Kfz-1
 car would be used.

 2) 519 s.Pz.Jgr.Ab was equipped with a company of Jagdpanther and two
companies of StuGs. It was deployed as part of 6 Panzer Armee for the
Ardennes offensive in 1944 it had 4 Jagdpanzer, possibly 1 Jagdpanther and
 3 StuGs.

 3) 559 s.Pz.Jgr.Ab had a single Jagdpanther company and a pair of StuG
companies, It was attached to the Panzer Lehr Division for the Ardennes
offensive, at that time it only had one Jagdpanther and two StuGs.

 4) 560 s.SS.Pz.Jgr.Ab only had one company of Jagdpanther. The command and
the other two companies were equipped with PzJgr-IV/70. At the start of the
Ardennes offensive in 1944 the two PzJgr companies only had 2 PzJgr-IV/70
each. The Jagdpanther company had one Jagdpanther It was attached to 12 SS
 Panzer Division for the offensive.

 5) 654 s.Pz.Jgr.Ab was issued with a full complement of Jagdpanther in June
1944. It was committed to battle piecemeal. II/654 was employed in the
Normandy battles. HQ 654, I/654 and possibly III/654 were deployed for the
Nordwind offensive at the end of 1944, start of 1945.

 6) 655 s.Pz.Jgr.Ab was issued with one company of Jagdpanther and probably
 two StuG companies.

 7) It is likely that many units did not receive the HQ FlaK and engineers.
