Each player played 6 games and 6 different missions. Each mission utilized victory points to determine the outcome of the game. Victory points were then added together at the end to determine the winner. 50 points were awarded to fully painted armies. Here's the breakdown of Greiss' day Battle 1- Patrol Opponent: James- Imperial Guard A slugfest in the making. Two guard armies duking it out for da points. Well this one was a lot closer than anyone expected. James' dreadful dice roles and my good luck pulled me out a win. His lightning failed to penetrate any of my armor for 8 times. I told him I'd get my priest to bless his dice. Outcome: Winner Battle 2- Blitz Opponent: Avid- Imperial Guard Another guard battle, what were the chances!!?? Well this one was on Art's great looking ice terrain. I was defending and got to set up the fortifications. By bottle necking his attacking troops, as soon as they reached the line, 60 guardsman and two ordinance blasts awaited him. This was a tough one to win for anybody let alone an Imperial Guard army. Outcome: Winner |

Battle 3- Bunker Assault Opponent: Dan- Space Marines Those darn Marines. Lots of terrain and I'm attacking. This was going to be a tough one. My preliminary bombardment failed to wound anything and he got the first turn. His predator opened up and destroyed my beloved Leman Russ. The Basilik was stunned quickly and out of the fight for the next three turns. I finally managed to blow up one bunker in turn 5, but by then it was too late. Advancing guardsman turned into cannon fodder. Good job Dan, my hat's off to you! Outcome: Loss Battle 4- Ambush Opponent: Tamlin- Chaos Holy Snikies! Will I make it out alive?! Well luck again was on my side. Tamlin's chaos lord and retinue failed to show up for the first three turns. My ordinance drops were right on target and destroyed his beserkers and obliterators. Phew. Good dice rolls and scared to hell guardsmen running like heck did it for me. Outcome: Winner |
Doubletime, March!! |
Battle 5- Strongpoint Attack Opponent: Justin- Dark Angels Just yer plain ole assault. Battle Cannon and Earthshaker take out both bunkers by turn two. Two things I learned this game, I love watching marines caught in collasping bunkers, and I hate Vet sgt. Naaman. It was nice to play someone younger with not as much experience. note to self: feel like old fart. Outcome: Winner Battle 6- Bunker Assault Opponent: Bjorn- Space Wolves Poor Bjorn, this just wasn't his day to be a defender on a bunker assault. If I had been defending, it would have been a different story. By turn 6, he had 4 figures left. My scatter dice is possesed I think to myself. Outcome: Winner |
