Washington politicians and family values

I don’t know if any others are confused as I am but just what are the family values anti-Clintonites have been browbeating President Clinton with month after month? Do they, indeed, hold such values as dear as they claim?

Is one of the values that people should not lie? Does this include not lying during campaigns and about their opponents (whether in their own party or not)?

Does it also include being truthful about illicit sex when they have engaged in such activities themselves? Or about their own beliefs and philosophies?

Is another value one must above all else be an honorable person with impeccable integrity? Does this mean one must do the task assigned with the people of this nation held as priority one?

If so, does it include the idea of decisions being made in the best interests of the majority of the people and special interest groups must take a back seat to the interests of the people in conflict situations?

Does the stressing of family values mean that above all else, personal gain should not be put above righteousness and the needs of this nation as a whole, that political games should not be played which interfere with the smooth running of this nation?

Is another family value one should not seek sexual favors outside of marriage, that one’s actions must always be above reproach, whether in private or public?

Does this one include the idea that any illicit sexaul encounter made public misleads the youth of this nation, and that any person participating in such activities is decadent and lacking in leadership and proper role model qualities?

Is it in fact a family value held dear that truth and justice must prevail above all else, including party and self interests?

If so, then let’s change the rules. Why not make it a rule that any politician caught in a lie is immediately removed from office?

Why not make it a rule that any politician caught with his pants down, so to speak, is immediately removed from office?

Why not make it a rule that any politician who goes against the best interests of the majority of the people by aiding high-dollar contributors be immediately removed from office?

Actually, since Republicans and other anti-Clintonites are stressing family values so strongly, why not just make it illegal for any to violate any of the Ten Commandments or the people’s trust?

Why not, Ladies and Gentlemen, hold them exactly to what they are using against President Clinton and begin the New Age prior to the Millennium?
